He has seen a lot of losing. I wish the next coach (if he is still here) can get him playing his best.
-
"lacks confidence".
-
In his career as HC of the Sabres, Ron Rolston had a PTS% of .431. Phil Housley is looking down the barrel at .410. Anyone wanting that for "coaching consistency" need to let that sink in.

I heard the presser and I kinda agree. I found myself getting a little upset listening to him too. But add Risto, Girgs, Larsson, Sam, Jack to McCabe and they all have experienced nothing but losing here in Buffalo. I don't know how they break out of that. I know Phil can't do it. EDIT: Add Erod and Nelson to the list. They got their headline already. Another 4-0 loss. Sabres outscored 21-6 in the last 5 games. 1-8-1 for weeks. Like I just told my brother back in Buffalo. I've had "battered wife syndrome" with this team for too many years. I'm past that point and I'm not leaving! LOL they need to move out. Phil, Bots, whatever, somebody has to go.

Phil in his presser on WGR. He likes how the guys fought to the end. Need to score more goals.
-
Sabres scored 3. Sweet, once this team gels!
-
Then you got to clean house of the players. That means the veteran leadership too. You can't just leave it like it is.
-
I'm listening to the game, I had to laugh when they did the announcement and I said "thank you".
-
Paul Hamilton just said on WGR that he has never seen a team just give up this bad to end the season like the Sabres.

Boooooooooooooooooooz

Boooooo's rain down.

True. The argument likens the chicken and the egg. He can do more but there is a whole team with him. A 5th year with no playoffs is unthinkable if you went back in time. This team NEEDS a no nonsense coach with a firm vision. I wish we knew who that could be.

I just said the same stuff in yesterdays GDT. You said it better.

I applaud Captain Jack for not throwing PH under the bus. It's also his job as Captain to call out himself and the players........................... BUT it's more on HC Phil Housley to do some "calling out". Standing in front of the press every night giving lip service is way past done. Standing on the bench game after game with ZERO emotion when the team plays bad is way past done. Not trying something completely different in his "game planning" as the season crumbled around him is way past done. He's done. Yep. Double yep. Jack's career is going to be in a tough spot next season. How long can he stomach this organization?

A good captain goes down with the ship.

I'm sticking it out until I get my Phil Housley Bobble Head !!!!!!!!!!! I know the head won't "bobble" and it's face shows no emotion........but I want it anyway.

Beane and McDermott are looking like a good team for the Bills. The players work hard with passion and have bought in. FA's are wanting to come to Buffalo. Terry needs to find that management team with the Sabres. Imagine if Terry/Kim "STUCK IT OUT" with Whaley and Rex!

Just to show where I'm at, I cancelled Center Ice recently after I don't know how many years because I couldn't take it anymore. I was back in Buffalo earlier this month and went to the Oilers game. It was brutal to see how the team played and how the crowd was. When I came back to Colorado I went with a bunch of friend to the bar to watch the Pittsburg game. It was embarrassing to sit that game out. I started logging in again to see what you guys are thinking............I just don't know how much heart I got left.....been a fan since inception.
-
LOL, I've been so out of it with this team the last couple of months I forgot all about that.

Pilut has got 430 minutes so far with the Sabres. Everyone got a good look at him. Guhle has got 23 minutes. Seems to me IF they want to take another look at him with the Sabres now is the time.

The GMs haven't been very good themselves. Whether the Pegula's should or shouldn't be involved in HC hiring is a fair question for fans to ask but the main question now is the continued inept Sabres play. I have been a Sabres fan since inception and I have never been lower than I am right now. In my wildest fantasy I cannot see HCPH turning this thing around next October. IMO he has to go AND I believe that the Pegula's are obligated to explain to their fans their plan to change the last 8 years of results under their ownership. To be clear, I also have great respect to Terry and Kim Pegula and love them for keeping these teams in Buffalo.
