  1. I edited 4 for the 2 years but you are right about playing for Tampa for less. It would be OK for your terms. Sabres have the money this year and next so I would do that.
  2. Great. I haven't been on the board much and was scouring the RHD FAs and he just jumps out as a possible great fit. Do you think 2 years $4M total would be reasonable for both parties?
  3. How about Jan Rutta? Tampa is out of money and still wants to sign Palat. They want to re-sign Rutta too but may not have the money. He would bring a lot of experience including playoffs. Even overpaying for him wouldn't be too much if they could talk him into being the mentor for the whole Sabres D.
  4. So RHD in FA? With all the young D's on the roster a vet RHD would seem reasonable right?
  5. Also a Buffalo native and one time Niagara U. coach. You know this guy bleeds blue and gold. His reaction shows me more about KA then anything I have heard or read about. This boat is turning kids!
  6. If Portillo (and Johnson for that matter) don't show up to the Development Camp next week I'm not counting on either to sign with the Sabres. I hope they do and catch some hype for the future of the Sabres.
  7. The Kraken were taking a goalie in round 2 and they (the Sabres staff) no doubt wanted the pick of the liter. I can understand that. Potillo and Levi are nothing to the Sabres until they sign ELCs.
  8. Well Sabres fans that's it for the 2022 draft. I think it went well. Good luck to all the young men!
  9. The Ben Bishop 7th Round pick from Dallas has "good Karma" written all of it.
  10. The "Rat-Man"!
  11. I was just going to post something like that. Good prospects are good prospects and can always be used for trades. I don't want to see the Sabres goalie pipeline empty again.
  12. I got no problem with the Sabres taking the #1 goalie in this draft. Good grief they have 11 picks this year and extra picks again next year. Goalies take a long time to develop so pick up some of the best while you have the picks. I wouldn't mind next years "best" too.
  13. I'm 4/$4.5M guy. No terms would mean they can see how much his game can improve and still leaves an option for a tradeable contract.
  14. $6M/6Years is about right for me. Tage needs to be in the core of the team. He is skilled/enthusiastic, and I don't see that contract being an overpay. It also shows the rest of the young guys that they pay for good play. You have to take a risk sometime and I think Tage is a good bet.
  15. While I in no way know about the kids going to the draft like others here do, it seems that the top GKs this year have at least 3rd round grades. If that's true it seems to me that with all the picks GMKA has using his 3rd this year should get the pick of the litter. I'm hoping that happens if they really like one of the top guys. https://thehockeywriters.com/2022-nhl-draft-top-10-goalies/
  16. With Portillo having a chance to go to free agency next year leaving the future to UPL and Devon Levi is it out of the question that the Sabres use as much as a 3rd round pick on a goaltender? They got so many picks this year it seems to me not taking advantage to resupply the goalie pipeline could be a mistake.
  17. Agree. Get negotiations going and get Kane's input. It COULD put pressure on Chicago to go for something a lot less than they hoped for. Also, negotiations could give KA a good opportunity to line out what a Kane future with the Sabres would look like. I agree with some posters that brought up the point that if Kane signs an extension and his play falls off it will affect their ability in future signings. If Kane was willing to sign a reasonable 2023-2024 one-year extension with the caveat of signing one-year deals after that, it could be a great deal for the Sabres. If Chicago and or Kane laugh this off KA can always just walk away. I say all this believing that a decent GK and Kane put the Sabres "back on the map" and into the playoffs next year.
  18. I miss him already. I remember listening to him on the radio all those years ago.
  19. Casey at the Bat!!!!!!
  20. Yep, should of specified better. LOL.
  21. Sorry I was caught up in the NFL Draft. I'm here now and time for a score!
  22. The VGK pick doesn't need to be some superstar. Just have him be the guy who lights the lamp with the game winner to win the cup. That's all I want.
