  1. Lots of quotes about KA too. Sounds like the two are building a good relationship.
  2. Bold Prediction: I will enjoy watching Sabres hockey again. March will be exciting.
  3. Get off me. I'll end any future discussions between us now.
  4. Dude, I was commenting on his mom. While reading about his family I seen his sister is wanting to be a tennis pro. I can see you spout off before you know what the facts are.
  5. Looks like his sister Gabriella is an aspiring tennis pro too, and yes "oh my"!
  6. Thanks, and thank you for reminding me to look into the AHLTV for the Amerks games.
  7. I got to admit I didn't pay enough attention to him to know his game and know his worth to Rochester.
  8. I like the idea you (and others) have proposed. It's something that, if it clicks, could be a dynamic pairing.
  9. The way I see it is it's fine to have a couple of JAGs on every team. What was bad in the past was half (or more) the Sabres team was JAGs. LOL. Things are getting incrementally better.
  10. Totally agree. But I would like to add that it seems that most of the board believes VO doesn't have much of a chance to be a core player. I'm not sure that I am going to agree with that and GMKA may not either (just a guess). VO has only 1 full season of NHL hockey. The 2 Covid seasons and a whole lot of turmoil surely has affected his development. I want to see more than 188 games. VO led the team last season in GW goals with 6 and had 4 (second on the team behind Jack) in his first real season and was 2 of 4 in shoot-outs last year. He seems to be able to get it done when needed. Like so many other of the young guys I so want to see how they play in playoff games. If VO can keep improving and stays a clutch player he may become a player we want to sign another contract, core or not.
  11. I have to think he will fit in with the young guys right away. Seems like a good kid. Best of luck!
  12. Yes. Comparing can be done with any players. A stat is a stat.
  13. Thanks. Good to see that ScottLaw hasn't changed since March of 2017! I will be sure to remind him of this................... Seriously? The guys been in the league 2 years and has started a handful of games. This is guy becoming a serviceable, solid player seems like Some what of a Hail Mary by Whaley and company. More likely he struggles and eventually becomes buried in the depth chart after getting burned a few times in season.
  14. Well @Pimlachsaid long term. That would assume that these recent drafted Cs play well enough to move Tage out of his C slot. I don't see any of this happening for a long time (if ever). Personally, I think Tage's improvement was position change. His long stick, reach and size gives him a playing/shooting style that seems better utilized in the middle of the ice than along the boards. This year will tell me more.
  15. Agree. After Ullmark leaving, UPL is next in line and not looking all that promising in that role. Comrie signing should light a fire in UPL.
  16. If the young guys play great, I can agree.
  17. I can see a plan were Anderson starts out the season as the #1 with Comrie taking on more and more games as he acclimates to the team. I guess in a perfect world Anderson stays healthy and plays well and Comrie takes over #1 by December.
  18. I see what you're saying and understand. I'm not saying he will probably be re-signed after the 2 years but I don't see the need to move him at the deadline this year. I see him filling a needed role for the next 2 years and then come what may.
  19. I'm not as savvy about NHL contracts as some of you guys are but I don't see VO being moved at deadline time this year or next year. It seems to me that he's a good player that his long-term decision with the Sabres is being pushed out 2 years to see how the young guys develop and what roles they will fill. It seems to me with KO, ZG, VH and AB all on one-year-left contracts moving VO at the end of the year would not be effective at all looking forward to the 2023-2024 season. In 2 years they can decide if VO is a player they want to keep or move on from. If that is GMKA's plan what am I missing that makes it not sound?
  20. Portillo and Levi need to attend Tre' White's Goalie Academy when they are here. Josh and Tre' need to clue them into the city!
  21. Well, it is tricky. It would be determinate on a combination of: A draft pick(s). A prospect. How much of Kane's salary the Sabres pick up. How much Kane will sign an extension for? Like most are saying I would want that to be as lean as possible. If a trade is worked out, I will look at whether it's a "good deal" like pornography. "I'll know it when I see it". I want GMKA to negotiate.
  22. Rita is my girlfriend. Let's see if TB signing Rutta or Palat first. Look at Spotrac and tell me it's easy for them. But the news is TB is also "working hard" in signing Palat too. https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/tampa-bay-lightning/cap/ https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/tampa-bay-lightning/
  23. Kane (with a more mature attitude) would be worth a reasonable cost this year IMO. Putting Sabres fans back in the seats would go a long way in offsetting his cost to the organization and I don't just mean money. A return of Sabres fans with a chance for the playoffs would one-for-one remove opposing fans from those seats. The young guys would benefit from a real "home ice" crowd. My god, a lot of home games last year had more visitor jerseys than Sabres! Kane's #1 job if he returns is to get the Sabres back in the playoffs! He could do that without a detriment to the future plans. The young guy's next big step is playoff hockey experience and all that it brings to the players and the fans. I want to see this happen.
