  1. I made a capfriendly team for fun, curious what you guys would think of the team/prices of players/the trade I made. Quite obviously, it is not the trade I was mentioning earlier. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1823092
  2. I look forward to seeing how that translates into his game, and how it affects his physicality.
  3. If you have room for another manager, I would like to join.
  4. Oh, and also, source: "I just have a good feeling about Adams"
  5. A handful of random things I picked up from talking with my source: Kevyn Adams is very analytically based, looks at the numbers more than Tim Murray's eye test. There is a reasonable chance of Girgs and/or Larsson being back KA is more focused on building a team that works together we'll than Jbotts was. Jbotts was focused more on bringing in the best pieces he could, instead of trying to fit pieces together. (Sited having a surplus of D, but no D chemistry) KA comes across as smarter than Jbotts There is a decent chance we see Skinner with Jack this year. Not 100% going to happen, but there is a good chance it will.
  6. I can't speak for all sabres fans, but I would be extremely excited to get these players.
  7. At this point in time I don't know, it likely will depend significantly on playoff performance.
  8. I would think if Reinhart is going out, and Boeser is coming back, there would need to be more pieces, like Horvat and Montour. Reinhart>Boeser and Horvat>Montour, balancing the trade a bit.
  9. I would not consider Bennet a top 6 forward. He is more of a solid defensive 3rd liner IMO.
  10. He is also not mentioning Kahun, Oloffson, and Ullmark, which would more than make up that difference.
  11. I have been asked not to reveal much Information, as this is still all very tentative.
  12. According to my source, the sabres are in discussions that would bring in a second line center, as well as a top 6 winter from a team that is currently playing. The center is a player the board has talked about before. The sabres main blocks are tentatively agreed upon, but they may have to add significantly depending on playoff performance.
  13. Don't forget him having our first 2 goals this year: we'll see if he can keep it up
  14. Many "essential workers" travel and then have to quarantine. They had better be strict about isolation.
  15. Without looking: Lightning, Wild, and Avalanche. Thought of Lightning right away, took a minute for the others.
  16. I'm thinking about it this way: We have no 2C according to pretty much everyone, including us. But obviously, we would have a player in the 2C position. I think there are ~27 1Cs players: the cutoff is where a typical playoff roster would struggle to make the playoffs with the 28th as their 1C. 28-31 would be terrible 1Cs, great 2 C's. The next 31 go till you reach a situation like the Sabres with Johanson or maybe Larsson- a good 3C, a terrible 2C. This player would be the difference between a wildcard roster and a barely missed team. I have not researched enough to prove this idea, but it is a general idea that I have. Oh, okay. I thought you were saying I was trolling when I saw this post, decided to actually explain my reasoning to show I wasn't trolling.
  17. Disagree on your definition of #1 center. What you are describing are elite centers or top tier #1s. There are a bunch of centers that are definitely not #2 centers, and are not a #1 by your definition. I would say there is probably somewhere around 25-28 #1 centers in the league- enough so that not all teams have one, but enough that the majority do.
  18. While I'm fine with the idea, I don't think we should get rid of McCabe. He is one of 2 NHL LHD on the roster. We already need to add 1 (unless Montour plays on his off hand again), I'd prefer to not create a hole there, when McCabe can be a solid 5D.
  19. Cirelli will command significantly more than $728,000 as a RFA. I would guess he will be somewhere in the vicinity of 6 million.
  20. If Tage, Cozens, and Ruotsalainen could come in and produce like that on a 3rd line, that would be amazing. It would give us cap space, a good (at least offensive) 3rd line, and give us the opportunity to work on our top 6 with some salary coming in. However, I doubt some of them are ready for a 3rd line role, and likely would not produce at that level.
  21. Basically, the flu vaccine is made with the scientists predicting which strain is going to be most prevalent. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes there's a couple strains that get pretty big. It's a guessing game predicting the spread of viruses a long time in the future.
  22. I (a completely uniformed person, so take this with a grain of salt) would think that the vaccine wouldn't be annually available like the flu shot. There have been Corona viruses for years, such that the majority of people in the world have had it before, and most have similar effects to the common cold. These did not require vaccines back then, and I don't see why they should now, unless new strains are rapidly emerging.
  23. I can't believe my mind blanked Okposo out of the lineup. There's your 4 RW.
  24. I think if we could add a 2RW in free agency (toffoli?), We could build a solid team with Monahan. What about Risto, mitts, and a 2nd (hell for Monahan, I'd send a top 10 protected first instead) Lines look something like this: Skinner-Eichel-Tofolli Oloffson-Monahan-Reinhart Johansson-Cozens-Kahun Xxx-Lazar-xxx Dahlin-Joki McCabe-Montour Xxx-Miller Goalie would still be a problem, and I don't know if that would fit under the cap, but that is a good roster (dependant on reasonable players filling the xxx). Those top 3 lines are playoff calibre.
