Sabres acquire goalie Malcolm Subban for Future Considerations

16 games, .900 save percentage and 3.2 GAA, not what we need. -
Updated Sabres Prospect Pool 2021 and beyond

Those were both great plays by Kozak, getting in front of the net, and a great finish by putting the puck in a place that keeper can’t get -
Well the coyotes have 5 wins on the season, so not sure where you’re getting that from.

Practice Notes for November 30, 2021; Mitts is Back!
sabresparaavida replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Referring to how JBotts didn’t bring in a capable 2C once Ror was traded, similar to how we don’t have capable goaltending now. -
Jason Robertson is an example of a Kingston player exceeding expectations relative to his draft position. An early 2nd rounder putting up .88 PPg last year and 1.07 so far this year. In a redraft he’d be an early-mid first.
-
I’d agree. I was more throwing him out as a possibility, as he is the next most likely forward to get called up from our system outside of the ones earlier mentioned
-
It may help, but I also think there is a reasonable concern that both would be among our weaker forwards defensively. Is putting both of them on the same line good considering that they may lead to a lot more goals against?
-
Well, NHL players that meet expectations. Bennet this season has 8G 5A 13P in 18 games, a pace of a good NHL player, but this is one of his best seasons, and you want more out of 4OA. Crouse has 10p in 23 games on a terrible Arizona team, scoring like an NHLer, but again not what you want out of 11OA. Dal Colle is a bit different, he has played like a jag when he has played, but still played over a hundred games.

I think some players to really watch the next handful of games will be all 3 young centers (Mitts especially) and Murray. If Mitts can play similar or better to how he was at the end of last season, that gives me a bit more confidence in our center line. If Murray can keep performing well, I could see him being a great option for next year with Okposo and Girgs, as well as a netfront guy for one of the PP units.

Does Rasmus Dahlin need a change of scenery?
sabresparaavida replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Interesting that those fancy stats seem to point to Dahlin being better in his own end than in his opponents. -
This does seem like perhaps for the first time in many years the Sabres could ice 4 actual NHL lines next year.

That 4th line, woof. -
The Sabres have 9 returning forwards under contract for next year: Mitts, Cozens, Skinner, Tage, Girgs, Okposo, Asplund, Bjork, and Tuch. RFAs that the Sabres may re-sign: Oloffson, Murray, and R2. AHL players that may deserve time in the big club: Quinn, JJP, Krebs and Weissbach. The Sabres likely keep 14 forwards next year. Barring a trade, all 9 returning forwards make the roster again next year. Oloffson and Murray should be locks to re-sign, Oloffson is a roster lock, and Murray looks like he may be giving reasons to stay. R2 is less of a lock to re-sign, there’s a chance he goes Pilut mode, and he may not make the roster if re-signed. I expect Quinn and JJP to make the team next year. Their scoring pace suggests that they are ready for NHL, provided they have adequate defensive responsibility. I think Krebs making the team at the start of the year is less likely. He would likely not be in our top 3 centers, and it would probably be better for his development to get 1st line minutes in Rochester, than 4th line minutes in Buffalo. He could still make the team as a Lw, but he seems more like a first call-up to me, as I think Quinn and JJP beat him out for wing slots. I don’t think Weissbach is ready, but perhaps is ready for a callup mid-season. I don’t think the Sabres go after many if any UFAs this year. The kids are looking like they are ready for spots and signing more players may be blocking them, something Kevyn Adams doesn’t seem fond of. It seems to me that it could end up being Quinn, JJP, Krebs, R2, Murray and Weissbach battling for 3 roster spots. I could see the lines looking something like this: Skinner-Thompson-Oloffson Tuch-Mitts-Quinn Asplund -Cozens-JJP Murray-Girgs-Okposo Bjork-R2 Callups: Krebs, Weissbach Still not a star-studded line up, but more potential to grow into one. Thoughts?

GDT: Seattle at Buffalo-November 29, 2021-7pm-MSG, ESPN+, WGR550

Brett Murray giving a reason to keep him around, that goal was a very good, simple play, something this team could use more of. He just picked his space, held it, and patiently cashed in a rebound. -

With 24 points in 17 AHL games, Quinn has an NHLe of 56 points over an 82 game season. I think next year he should be able to come in and give us 40+ points in a middle 6 role. -
I wouldn’t hate that. It would definitely show some progress, and give us another shot at a Quinn/Cozens caliber prospect to help solidify our forward corps.

Brendan Leimuix (sp?) bit him twice during a fight.

Watching a pregame broadcast- said what Tage was doing was not surprising anybody, and that was because he was taken 26th overall by the blues. Obviously he hasn’t watched Tage the past few seasons, he’s suprised a lot of Sabres fans with his play as of late. -
21 gp 13g 17a 30p, he’s producing well this year. Maybe him and bloom make good future 3rd liners?
-
Overreaction much? Given that we lose this game, and had a 2% win probability for the rest of the games this season, there is a 28.6% chance we’d lose the rest of the season. A 3% win probability would make it so we’d have a 15% chance of losing out. With a modest 10% win probability, there is a .15% chance we’d lose out. To say we might not win another all year is simply ridiculous, as even the worst nhl team in nhl history won 10% of their games. (1975 caps, 8-67-5)

They dominated the rangers games’ face offs too. Wonder if they’ve been drilling those a lot in practice.
