  1. Like if Toronto wants him, and we retain 3mil and get assets while Ottawa flips him through us to Toronto.
  2. Think there’s a possibility we see a trade with retention go through?
  3. Also of note from that 2017 draft are Nick Suzuki (13) Necas (12) as well as Joshua Norris (19) who looks to be developing quite well.
  4. So we should keep him and win Bedrard right?
  5. There really isn’t another (non goalie) free agent that id be happier to add. He can play anywhere in the middle 6 and bring physicality, while also helping to balance out a young lineup. The thought of having 3 of the kids on 1 line kinda scares me, having another skilled, tough forward would be great. I also think a line of Copp-Cozens-Tuch would be really good and hard to play against.
  6. I’d take that and snag Jiriceck/Nemec if they fall, Savoie If they don’t.
  7. Just did one and got: Savoie Nazar McGroarty Warren Think our center depth would be good enough after this?
  8. Round 1 1. Shane Wright (Montreal Canadiens). 2. Juraj Slafkovsky (New Jersey Devils). 3. Logan Cooley (Arizona Coyotes). 4. Simon Nemec (Seattle Kraken). 5. David Jiricek (Philadelphia Flyers). 6. Cutter Gauthier (Columbus Blue Jackets from Chicago Blackhawks). 7. Marco Kasper (Ottawa Senators). 8. Joakim Kemell (Detroit Red Wings). 9. Matthew Savoie (Buffalo Sabres). 10. Jonathan Lekkerimäki (Anaheim Ducks). 11. Frank Nazar (San Jose Sharks). 12. Lian Bichsel (Columbus Blue Jackets). 13. Danila Yurov (New York Islanders). 14. Conor Geekie (Winnipeg Jets). 15. Noah Östlund (Vancouver Canucks). 16. Ivan Miroshnichenko (Buffalo Sabres from Vegas Golden Knights). 17. Brad Lambert (Nashville Predators). 18. Ty Nelson (Dallas Stars). 19. Denton Mateychuk (Minnesota Wild from Los Angeles Kings). 20. Filip Mesar (Washington Capitals). 21. Rutger McGroarty (Pittsburgh Penguins). 22. Liam Öhgren (Anaheim Ducks from Boston Bruins). 23. Isaac Howard (St. Louis Blues). 24. Jimmy Snuggerud (Minnesota Wild). 25. Pavel Mintyukov (Toronto Maple Leafs). 26. Seamus Casey (Montreal Canadiens from Calgary Flames). 27. Ruslan Gazizov (Arizona Coyotes from Carolina Hurricanes). 28. Ryan Chesley (Buffalo Sabres from Florida Panthers). 29. Gleb Trikozov (Edmonton Oilers). 30. Elias Salomonsson (Winnipeg Jets from New York Rangers). 31. Tristan Luneau (Tampa Bay Lightning). 32. Jack Hughes (Arizona Coyotes from Colorado Avalanche).
  9. Saw something saying Talks between Dallas and Klingberg have disintegrated, and he’ll be heading to FA.
  10. That would take a monster trade, it would require giving up some premium assets.
  11. At 16? Yuck. I would be okay with him at 28.
  12. Wonder if this eases some concern for the Russian draft prospects (like if Fedotov is being targeted because of his fake military ID, and players without one won’t be?)
  13. A small price to pay IF KA drafts well this year. 7, 9, 16 and 41 OA could add a lot of skill and set up our pipeline to be just about the best in the league, with already one of the youngest rosters in the league.
  14. He did bounce back some last year after a couple awful seasons. If we could get him+7OA for 28OA, I would be quite happy with that trade.
  15. I remember him being talked about like that. It may not have included yet undrafted prospects (Knight, Wallested, etc) but I do distinctly remember him called the best goalie prospect outside the NHL.
  16. Suzuki was already on the roster, and was the reason I said they lost their 2 and 3 Cs, I didn’t say they lost their 1C. And while Caufield may be better down the road, he had less goals and points this year than Toffoli did in the shortened season. (15 less games than Caufield) I also forgot to mention losing Tatar, one of their other best players.
  17. Well, I generally would say if there are still fans despite currently holding the NHL record for missing the playoffs the most straight seasons, they couldn’t really be considered fair weather fans.
  18. I was referencing Kotkaniemi and Danault with the 2nd/3rd center comment. They also lost Toffoli though, and he was their leading point producer. Effectively they lost/were without 5 of their best 7 or so players from the year before.
  19. Yeah, but we are in a wildly different situation than the Canadiens. They lost their star goalie, 1D and 2nd and 3rd centers in last offseason. They already had overachieved, and it was clear they were going to regress (albeit that much was unexpected). We haven’t really lost anyone of large significance, and have a lot of young improving players. We’re trending up, and id be surprised if we were bottom 5 next year.
  20. Turn down the randomness/team needs and he’s less likely to be there.
  21. They weren’t bottom 5 last year with pretty much the same goaltending (assuming KA brings in at least a Tokarski level tender)
  22. I used that list and got 9Nemec 16Nazar 28 Yurov and 41 McGroarty to be fair, I did turn up the randomness.
  23. Nemec-Nazar-Yurov-mcGroaty
  24. Yeah, in reference to the OP. This is a better analysis IMO, but it is just so situational with how the draft differs and how rare early trades are.
  25. I feel as this is a pretty poor analysis for the worth of draft picks. The only criteria for worth of a pick is man games played. The picks values are derived only by the expected amount of games played in the league. One example they gave was 8 and 32 for 1 because you have an expected return of roughly the same amount of games. This has no way to track the quality of the games though. In 2015, McDavid was 1 OA and Zachary Werenski and Christian Fischer went 8 and 32. This system would likely give more value to Werenski+Fischer than to McDavid (because they together will likely play more games), even though that would be a clearly lopsided trade if it were to happen
