@Sabres Fan in NS Going from left to right, GF/60: Team goals for per 60 minutes Power is on the ice. XGF/69: Team’s expected goals scored per 60 minutes Power is on the ice. CF/60: shots for per 60 minutes Power is on the ice. XGA/60: expected goals against per 60 while Power is on the ice. CA/60: shots against per 60 minutes while Power is in the ice. Note, all of this is at even strength. On the right, the numbers are z scores for standard deviations of the league. A z score of 0 is average for NHL defenseman in each category. A z score of 1 is better than 84.1% of defensemen, a 2 is better than 99.7% of defensemen, and a 3 is in the top 99.9% (for negative z scores, the inverse is true) This chart implies that Power is top 2/3 in Gf/60, nearly as high in xGF/60, and the team generates a high amount of shots when he is on the ice. There are less shots against than average when he is on the ice, but the quality of the shots appear to be high, as there is a much higher than average xGA/60

Canucks beat the Islanders last night, despite Bo Horvat having a goal and an assist. Love to see it.

Rasmus Dahlin is replacing Tage Thompson in the All Star Game
sabresparaavida replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Definitely not just Sabres fans hearing that. I’ve been listening to a lot of other team’s broadcasts facing the Sabres, and the wild and stars commentators both made the comparison. -
That is certainly possible, but I’d put it as a little unlikely. The young Sabres most likely to have a shot at the big leagues next season are Savoie and Kulich and to an extent Rousek. Savoie can play up to 9 games in the NHL and can still be sent back to the WHL. Any more, and he’s stuck on our roster. It’s possible he gets a shot, but probably unlikely that he’s here for the season. Kulich can be sent up and down from the AHL, however, I doubt they would use him like you describe. The Sabres are going to have a 13th roster forward that stays on the roster. They also aren’t going to carry a young rookie just to sit him, they’d prefer for him to keep getting consistent games. They also are unlikely to keep 3 goalies next year, so there could well be a 14th forward in the same role. Unless Kulich is getting consistent playing time, he will not be on this roster IMO. Rousek could perhaps make the roster, he’s likely nearly done developing, so could be kept as a 13th/14th forward, and stay on the roster.

Canucks trade C Bo Horvat to the Isles
sabresparaavida replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
True, but a couple key differences: Tage Thompson switched positions from wing to center for that year. Tage turned 24 that year. Tage is also 6’6”, and taller players usually take longer to grow into their bodies. Horvat has been in the league a while now, and is turning 28. He will want a long term deal, and even if this wasn’t a career year, his numbers are likely to be declining in the near future, whereas Tage’s numbers should be somewhat stable for a while. -
According to the Jets commentators last night, Hellebuyck was the main reason it want a blowout.

Did you know, the Sabres have won as many games as the rangers this season so far?
