  1. Correct. Neither Clague nor Levi can go down. Johnson only if he signs an ATO.
  2. No one is eligible.
  3. Quinn and Peterka were some of the most dominant players of their age group in the AHL in a long time. There was no reason to keep them in Rochester. They both could’ve gone up sooner last season. They brought Kisakov, Rosen and Kulich into the AHL sooner than teams have typically have done. They could have easily had Kozak go back to the WHL. And it sounds like they want Novikov, Östlund, and Neuchev in Rochester next year. And you can be sure, if he was eligible, Savoie would’ve been there this year. It’s very obvious they value the AHL as the best place to put their prospects. And why not? It’s the best, and closet in style league to the NHL in the world. They have a hand picked coaching staff. It’s right down the road. There’s no better place for their prospects unless rules or contracts prevent it.
  4. This is funny because it’s the exact opposite approach of the Sabres. They get their elite prospects in the AHL as soon as possible, and overcook them, if anything.
  5. Comrie has been recalled according to the AHL transaction page. I assume another move will need to be made soon.
  6. I was vocal that I thought they would send UPL down, but they probably can’t unless he really plays awful the next couple games. They’re not going to fake an injury to Anderson, nor send a defensemen down. The options come down to waiving Comrie or Hinostroza. I very much doubt the former, so I think they waive Hinostroza, even though they likely don’t want to.
  7. I definitely don’t think they want to send UPL down. I agree with everyone who says he earned a spot. But sometimes roster management makes hard decisions for you. Guess we’ll find out soon enough. UPL has to continue to play well. If he had a bad game or two, makes the decision easy when Comrie goes up.
  8. The only fact we know is KA saying over and over that UPL needs to play a lot this season wherever he is. A 3 goalie rotation probably isn’t going to be the best for that.
  9. I see zero chance they waive Hinostroza. And sending Clague down leaves them with only 6 D. I doubt it’s even a consideration. They’ll send UPL down as he needs to play as much as possible.
  10. It’s not punishing, it’s the reality of pro hockey/contracts/roster limits. And let’s be real, he has a sub .900 save percentage. He’s been inconsistent at best. He’s hasn’t really played his way onto the team. And you can’t keep 3 goalies unless you’re prepared to send down Krebs or Quinn or Peterka.
  11. I think this is more of a talking point than an actual difficult decision. UPL goes down when Comrie finishes his conditioning stint. He has to play.
  12. He should be better than Subban, hopefully. I didn’t like how Subban played against Utica the other night.
  13. I think Houser was in line to start today. Comrie should be an upgrade unless he’s really rusty.
  14. Sounds like there may be something called “Waivers Non-roster”. Never heard of it before, but would be applicable here.
  15. He’s listed as a scratch tonight. I’ve always been under the impression that waivers doesn’t remove you from the roster immediately. Unless there’s a loophole or something I’m unaware of.
  16. He’s not off the roster until he clears and is assigned. Players clear waivers all the time but remain with the team. Capfriendly still has him on the roster.
  17. Right, but Pilut is still on the roster until tomorrow. Just placing someone on waivers doesn’t remove them from the roster until 24 hours is up. Unless I’m mistaken on the rules.
  18. This doesn’t clear him from the roster until tomorrow, no? He’s on the roster until he gets assigned or claimed.
  19. They waived Pilut, but I don’t think that removes him from the roster until he clears tomorrow. Clague is definitely staying for a while, but I thought another move is still needed for Bryson.
  20. He’ll be in Rochester by this evening.
  21. Yeah I’m starting to think they’re just not very good this year. And it’s simple to see why. They lost: Quinn Peterka Ruotsalainen Jankowski MacInnis They replaced all of that scoring with… nothing. They didn’t sign a single proven forward other than Sheahan, who quit on the team. You can’t lose all of that scoring and replace it with 18 & 19 year old rookies. It doesn’t work. Quinn and Peterka were the exceptions in how quickly they excelled. In addition, the goaltending has been just awful. It doesn’t matter who plays. UPL, Houser and Subban have all been bad. The defense was supposed to be the strength, but I’ve found Priskie, Clague and Davies to all be disappointments. Appert talked about these signings in the summer, and having a dynamic defense that moves the puck up ice and provides offense. But they really haven’t done that at all. Their best defenseman is Bartkowski, who they grabbed mid season. Add in the 28th ranked penalty kill for good measure. I’m honestly shocked they have a winning record, but I don’t expect that to last long.
  22. Truthfully, they should’ve definitely brought him back over Subban. I get that Subban is likable, but he kinda sucks. He’s been terrible in his starts in Rochester, and simply isn’t reliable health wise.
  23. You have to be joking. Sheahan is a dummy, and he looks like a quitter. The Sabres signed him to a 2 way deal, told him he very well may end up being a veteran leader in Rochester. And the Sabres did exactly what they said, and this loser bailed on the team. Good riddance.
  24. Lack of any skill or attribute that sets him apart, and he rarely even plays like an agitator.
  25. I disagree. He’s really struggled defensively, directly leading to several goals against this year. If you listen to Apperts post game, he references this and that he didn’t have an overall great game.
