GDT - 5/27/23 - Hershey @ Rochester - Game 3 ECF - 7:05 pm
Amerks8796 replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Don’t skate like you have cement in your skates, quicker decisions, better passing. Like every pass was in the skates Thursday. They looked slow and lethargic, and I was really surprised that Appert seemed content with how they played. -
No, they played 12/6 last game. Olischefski or Warren come out.
-
This kid really blew it. He missed out on an opportunity to play big minutes for a team making a championship run. Where would that have put him in training camp this fall? Had he played well, he could have been penciled into a spot in Buffalo. Instead, he’s sitting around at home. Someone gave him very bad advice.

Sabres Announce that Matthew Savoie has been assigned to Rochester

He can 100% play, the only question is if he does. -
Sabres Announce that Matthew Savoie has been assigned to Rochester
Amerks8796 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I think he plays, but not game 1. He’ll probably arrive in Rochester today or tomorrow. The team will bus to Hershey tomorrow, so that’s a quick turnaround. Doubt they hastily throw him in like that. But by game 2 or 3, I think it should happen, especially if they’re down. -
Sabres Sign Defenseman Nikita Novikov to 3 Year ELC
Amerks8796 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Novikov, Prow, Metsa and Jandric are the current defensemen signed next year in Rochester. I have a feeling Clague may find his way to waivers and back on the team. Shaping up to be a nice defense after they bring in or re-sign a few more depth guys. -
Yes, easily. You make room. Weissbach is probably back for game 1. For me it’s simple, you insert Weissbach & Savoie and take out Eliot & Olischefski. It’s really not easy to take out Olischefski in particular, but Savoie is way too talented to watch from the press box.

Nadeau and Savoie aren’t even close. One is a middling prospect with a mediocre chance at becoming an NHL player, versus a dynamic prospect that is one of the top forward prospects in the sport. They aren’t remotely comparable.

19YEARS I believe.
-
He sure can. If they lose tonight, I’d hope he’s in the lineup for game 1.
-
Pretty much every hotel in the region is booked. They’re expecting 225,000 people this week.
-
He’s hurt. Had he been healthy, definitely could have gotten into a game. Nadeau is possible for the upcoming series.

GDT—Amerks v Crunch Series Deciding Game Five

All you have to do is pull up highlights from that night and you can clearly hear Freeze Frame. -
GDT—Amerks v Crunch Series Deciding Game Five
Amerks8796 replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
They certainly did not. Freeze frame is the goal song for the first two periods. Juke box hero is the third. -
Syracuse owner is notorious for only ever scheduling weekend games. The Crunch basically have the run of the building and they almost never play weekday games.

GDT: 4/21/23 Amerks @ Crunch AHL Semis Gm1 (AHLTV)

He was probably all week, and Appert said last night after the game that he was close. I’m sorry, but you gotta play. -

Absolutely. They are a very soft team. No physicality at all. They get by on skill, but there’s far less time and space in the playoffs, and it sure showed tonight. -

Yeah I hope so. But I’m going to take the coach at his word. He said over and over that he expected Kulich to play. What happened? Since they provide so little in terms of injury updates, you’re going to get speculation. -

Sorry, but I’ll choose to have whatever opinion I want. He skated this week, and was labeled probable all week. You want to say the coach was lying about it, maybe, but you play through pain and injuries in the playoffs. I clearly said he should only play if it’s something that can’t be re-injured or made worse. -

Amerks8796 replied to DarthEbriate's topic in The Aud Club
They simply weren’t prepared for playoff hockey. No physical game at all. Just a dull, lifeless game. They need Kulich to play. I’m sorry, but as long as it’s not something that can be made worse, and it’s just dealing with pain, he needs to play. -

Apparently no Kulich tonight, despite Appert saying repeatedly all week that he was probable. Very disappointing. I would hope you play through a bit of pain at this point in the year. -

I’m skeptical about the Amerks winning this series, but if Subban plays really well, I can see it. Syracuse is a tough matchup. Groulx is a good coach, they play a structurally sound game, and Barre-Boulet is arguably the best offensive player in the league. Kulich and Rosen will probably struggle with how physical and tight the games are. Even Quinn struggled with it last year. Amerks are without Biro this weekend, too, and that’s just too big of a loss. I think ultimately the Amerks chaotic style of play will unravel them against Syracuse over a 5 game series. The wildcard is potential TB injuries. But I have Syracuse in 4. -
He didn’t finish the game yesterday. Got hit with a puck in the skate I believe. Appert speculated he could be out weeks. Rumor is he got on the bus for todays game, but I doubt he plays.
-
Kulich is probably out a couple weeks. Biro out. Kozak out. Warren out. They’re shot. Looked tired and slow this weekend. Anything can happen once the playoffs start, but likely a quick exit this season.

If the holdup is the ATO and Rochester, I certainly see that as a red flag as a player. You want players who want to compete and play. Does he want to be done for the year? Who wouldn’t want to go play pro hockey and make a potential playoff run? To me, that would be an issue as far as his general attitude.
