  1. I'm expecting another 80 point season right now which should get us a top 7 pick again. This team could be good...scary good in another 3-5 years just as Jack reaches the age of 27-30. Slow improvements this year and they got some good assets for the future. Still have too many guys that play the same type of game. Still need another bruiser on the back end, (maybe Borgen), and true power forward, ( would love Josh Anderson).
  2. Off season move to Columbus...Reinhart for Wennberg and Anderson. Anderson gives Sabres true power forward to play on Jacks wing and Wennberg gives Sabres true #2 center for next three years or until Cozens is ready. Also Anderson will be cheaper than Reinhart. Wennberg is a pass first center which would fit well with Skinner.
  3. I like bringing in Kahun for two guys that would not be here next year in Sheary and ERod...good move JBott.
  4. If Canes can beat Loafs with a back up goalie, Sabres should push the playoff button and play with some passion today. I want to see an all out effort for 60 minutes. They don't play again until Wednesday in Colorado so this is a must win game. With win Sabres can pull within 4 points of Florida and 6 points of Toronto with a game in hand on Toronto. I'm thinking 5-3 win. Olofsson, Vesey, Skinner, McCabe, and Jack with empty netter.
  5. Maybe in off season, but not now. Tampa all in for this year.
  6. I feel Skinner held Jack back because of his shoot mentality. Skinner and Reinhart seem to be a better pairing on wings. I'd even put Lazar to center this line with his physical play could open up space for Reinhart and Skinner. I think Olofsson, Eichel and Vesey would have been a good first line. Vesey adds a bigger body along boards and more responsible in own end then Reinhart.
  7. But you get the 1st rd pick as well. Arizona or Vancouver pick they just picked up in trade from Tampa.
  8. I've posted in Reinhart thread as well, but would you trade... Reinhart for Palmieri, Wood, and 2020 top ten protected 1st rd pick? You could then in turn trade Tage and 2nd rd 2020 pick to Columbus for Josh Anderson?
  9. Seems to be a sellers market? Do we see what type of haul we could get for Risto and/or Reinhart?
  10. Would you trade Reinhart to NJ for Palmieri, Wood and top ten protected 2020 1st rd pick?
  11. I would be on board with Trocheck trade...he could solidify 2C for a couple of years and let Mitts and Cozens develop more. Who would Florida want in return? They need defenseman, would they take prospects and picks? Seems to be sellers market so cost could be steep, unless we include Risto then we could be getting a bigger return beside just Trocheck. Let me know which of these sweetlou trades makes more sense? Risto and ERod for Trocheck, Weager and Florida 2020 3rd rd pick. McCabe, Sheary, and Hammond for Trocheck.
  12. I'm on board with a Montour for Tuch trade!!
  13. Bogo will terminate contract and hope to get picked up as a depth d-man for playoffs for about 700K.
  14. I would love to land Cirelli as well but other than offer sheet, I don't think Tampa trades him to Sabres.
  15. He has proven he can be a top six...I just like his speed and finishes his checks.
  16. Even with getting 3out of 4 points these last two games this team is not a playoff team. I look for them to finish around the 80 point mark. That being said here are the moves to be made before trade deadline. Sheary to Columbus for a 2021 4th rd pick. Bogo to Carolina for a 2020 3rd rd pick. Sabres retain half of salary. This gives Sabres back pick from Skinner trade. Bogo gives them depth d with Hamilton out for rest of year. Frolik to Islanders for 2020 4th pick. Islanders have cap room and Frolik fits their defensive style game. Risto and Vesey to Vegas for Tuch, Merrill and 2020 3rd pick. Vesey is big body and defensively responsible like Tuch. Risto gives Vegas top RD they need. Sabres get a top six RW. Off season potential moves: Rights to ERod and conditional 2021 3rd pick to Edmonton for rights to Puljujarvi. Thompson and 2020 3rd rd pick to Columbus for rights to Josh Anderson. New 2020 line up- Olofsson- Eichel- Tuch Skinner- Johansson- Reinhart Puljujarvi- Cozens- Anderson Girgenssons- Lazar- Asplund D- Dahlin- Montour McCabe- Joker Pilut- Miller
  17. JBott has at least one more year. This off season is huge for him with only a few players signed for next year. What salaries do the RFA's get and what is he able to bring in via trades or UFA's will determine how long he stays on after that. The Skinner trade was a steal, but signing him to the contract was a little too steep. Joker for Nylander looks good in his favor so far. Montour for pick and Guhle is good. Kane and ROR trades are his only blemishes and I feel his hands were tied in both those situations because of how the players perceived the organization and wanting out.
  18. I'll play along.. NJ Devils- Dahlin, Mitts and Okposo for Hughes, Wood, and Palmieri and 2020 Arizona 1st? Philadelphia- Dahlin, Thompson and Okposo for Konecny, Couturier, and Ghostisbehere? Vegas- Dahlin and Thompson for Tuch, Glass, Hague and 2021 1st rd pick.
  19. ANNUAL AVERAGE (AAV) VALUE COMPENSATION $0 - $1,395,053 No Compensation $1,395,054 - $2,113,716 1 Third Round Pick $2,113,717 - $4,227,437 1 Second Round Pick $4,227,438 - $6,341,152 1 First Round Pick, 1 Third Round Pick $6,341,153 - $8,454,871 1 First Round Pick, 1 Second Round Pick, 1 Third Round Pick $8,454,872 - $10,568,589 2 First Round Picks, 1 Second Round Pick, 1 Third Round Pick Any Sabres offer sheets would have to be below 4,227,437 since they do not have a third rd pick.
  20. Tuch would only be available if the return to Vegas in a young defenseman...Risto Anderson has had a bad year and Columbus is winning w/o him. Also was a hold out before last contract. Columbus could look for D help or younger prospects or picks...Mitts, Tage, 2nd rd picks.
  21. I would prefer Tuch as well. I think Vegas holds onto to him this off season but may be willing to move him for a top 4 defenseman. Vegas has their top two lines set for the next couple of years. Enter Rasmus Ristolainen...I think this would be a good hockey trade for both teams. I look at it like the Seth Jones for Ryan Johansen trade, it made sense for both sides.
  22. If the Sabres are to pursue one of these two top six RW who would you rather have? Josh Anderson will be 26 yrs old in May and is an RFA. Career numbers- 267 GP, 65 goals, 50 assist, 115 points, +27. Contract will be around the $5 million AAV. Alex Tuch will be 24 yrs old in May and is signed for 6 more years at an AAV of 4.75 million. Career numbers- 193 GP, 41 goals, 61 assists, 102 points, +2. Would you give up Risto in return? It may not happen before the end of the season, but would be a nice addition in the off season.
  23. I do not mind keeping Reinhart as long as we can get him off Jack's line. I envision a Kane and Toews scenario next year. Olofsson, Eichel, ??? Skinner, Cozens, Reinhart Jack and Olof have shown some chemistry and I like Olof's two way game. They need a big physical RW who can also put puck in net, like a Josh Anderson or Alex Tuch. I'm not sure if Thompson fits that mold yet. Maybe in three years. Cozens I believe is the perfect centerman between Skinner and Reinhart. Don't give me the crap that he is too young. Mitts didn't fit well because he was not a physical type of player. Cozens doesn't mind going to the net and the corners. I would trade Risto if I could get a Anderson or Such back in return.
  24. also went to Nashville for game this past weekend and had the same problem with getting tickets. According to one local the Preds "think they are bigger then what they really are". They only sell tickets to the 5 states neighboring TN as to keep the home ice advantage and allow the local fans to get tickets. Of course there are ways around it and I was able to get inside. As far as the game, the goaltending by Rinne and Ullmark was amazing. I usually am not a fan of 2-1 games as they can be slow and sloppy. But this game was entertaining and had lots of scoring chances. Score could have easily been 5-4. You could tell Sabres got worn down in the third period, and phantom trip call on Jack cost the Sabres at least a point. Heres hoping they come out of this week off well rested and can get 14 points out the next ten games. (nine are at home)
  25. I like that Sam is being used on the PP in different ways...like his off wing for one timers. This is a whole new idea Kruger has used and we have not seen before. After reading through about five pages of comments and seeing some of the comparables of top RW, I think a 6 year $7.5-$8 million AAV is fair. This team still needs to add some grit though and I hope this is the off season. If we must trade a Mitts, or Risto to get a 2C then JBotts has to do it. Move Johansson to 2nd RW for next year and hope Thompson continues to develop and can be there the following year.
