Ullmark has proved he can be a NHL starter and has good numbers the last two seasons. My worry with him is staying healthy. 'He only played 34 games last year and 37 the previous year. Sabres need to sign Ullmark to a 3 year deal and then pickup a vet like Elliot, M'Razek, or Driedger to split time with him for a couple of years. I want UPL to develop in Roch for at least two more years before he even sniffs the NHL.

I dunno, Lazar and Reider lead the team at even strength goals with 3 a piece!

I would only sign him for four years at $7.5 million AAV.

to defend my initial notion, I don't think the Sabres trade for ROR in the first place if they have jack and Leon as the top two centers. Therefore they never trade him away. how much of these other moves would not have been made if the tank actually worked and they drafted the right players. so the biggest mistakes the last ten years has been in the scouting and drafting departments and not getting the right players. imagine what this team would have looked like if the tank worked and McDavid and Draisaitl are the top two players on this team.

But if you have Draisaitl and Eichel you probably are winning and ROR never makes comments and gets traded!!!

I like Bennet's physical game and he does well in playoffs. I would want him as a 3rd line winger. Sabres biggest mistake over last seven years is still selecting Reinhart over Draisaitl!! 14-15 Edmonton Oilers 37games -2goals 7 assist = 9pts. -17| 15-16 Edmonton Oilers 72games - 19 goals 32 assists. 51 points -2 First two years were rough but has blossomed into the best player in that draft. Sabres would have still sucked his rookie year so they still would have had Jack or McDavid

As long as this team keeps players like Reinhart and VO who give you nothing at even strength, the Sabres will go no where!!

Under the circumstances of only having a 56 game season almost every team makes the playoffs. Then the three teams that don't make the playoffs are guaranteed the top three picks in the 2021 draft.

Fun scenario I came up with to still have a season and then divisional type playoff. 4 new aligned division for this year to add an all Canadien division. Atlantic Division- Boston, Buffalo, Washington, NJ, NYI, NYR, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia Central Division- Tampa Bay, Florida, Carolina, Columbus, Nashville, Chicago, Detroit, St Louis Western Division- Minnesota, Dallas, Colorado, Arizona, Vegas, LA, San Jose, Anaheim Canadien Division- Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver Would love to see a scenario where each team goes to a host city for two weeks and plays each team in the division. They then have travel days to move to a new host city in the division and play each team again. Not sure if all cities would be able to accommodate this scenario. There would be two games each day and could play each team over the two week period. At the end of the 56 game round robin season, the top 7 teams from each division would advance to a playoff tournament with the top seed getting a bye in the first rd. Similar to this past years tournament. (only three teams would not make post season) The whole scenario would be about a 3 month season followed by a two month playoff.

Career numbers Mantha- 4 years- 260 Games- 173 Points- .67pts/gm. (games missed=68) Reinhart- 5 years- 400 Games- 255 points- .64 pts/gm. (games missed=6) Don't get me wrong I like Mantha as a player and was hoping Buffalo would go after him a couple of years ago. But he hasn't been able to stay healthy for a whole year. I actually prefer his style of play to Reinhart which is probably why he gets hurt. That being said I think he should have been in the high 4 million or topped out at 5 million AAV. I'm afraid Mantha's contract just drives up the price of resigning Reinhart.

New idea... I know everyone is high on Joker after his one year with the Sabres, but...would you were Sabres GM would you consider him in a package for a one year older more proven Sergachev from Tampa. This helps both teams. Tampa has too many LD and Sabres have too many RD. Package would look something like Joker, Mitts, and Pilut for Sergachev. Sabres could then sign Sergachev for 5x$5 million. This gives Sabres 5 years of prime playing while leading Sergachev right up to UFA where he can then sign a huge deal. This still leaves plenty of space to sign Dahlin to a 8 year 7 million contract extension next year. Sabres would move on from Miller or Montour next off season to creat space for Borgen or another young D to step in.

I don't mind Sam playing on the top PP unit with Jack and Hall but I want to see what Sam can do on a line with out Jack. Jack and Hall have great speed and want the puck on their sticks as they enter the zone. They need someone who can play big in the corners and has a good shot to finish around the net. I agree with Rivet in that I want to see what Thompson can do on the top line to start the year.. He is signed for the next three years and can't demand a huge salary if he performs well with Jack and Hall. It also gives us a chance to see who he really is as a player. If he succeeds then we know if if the Sabres decide to move on from Sam the Sabres have a player that can play on the top line. If Thompson does not mesh and fit well then we can always move Sam up later in the year. My lines to start the year... Hall- Eichel- Thompson Skinner- Stall- Reinhart Olofson- Eakins- Cozens Girgs- Lazar- Rieder

It would not work for Buffalo straight up. Sabres would have to add either Risto or Okposo to off set salary.
