I'd be ok with a Dumba, Boldy, Greenway, and 1st in 22' for Eichel!!
-
Also when Buffalo traded for ROR and was just starting to come into his own in 2015, the Sabres traded 3 young prospects and a 2nd rd pick. Ithinkthis is also comparable trade for what Sam should bringing a return.
-
So since Sam is and RFA his agent can talk with other GM's about a contract, I could see a scenario where a team who likes Sam agrees to a contract number. Instead of going the offer sheet route they go to the Sabres with a sign and trade offer. This allows teams to be secure in Sam staying long term and also helps Sabres in maximizing the return. I look back a few years ago at the haul Colorado got for Duchene. A young d prospect in Girard, a 1st rd pick, (ended up being 4th overall in Bowen Byram), two more prospects, and an AHL goalie. Ottawa traded Duchene a year later and also got a 1st rd pick and two prospects. There was a conditional 1st rd pick included if Duchene resigned with Columbus. He did not. In above trade idea he would be extended so why couldn't the Sabres get two 1st rd picks for Sam??

If/when Jack is moved, Sam won't anything to do this with this organization. Not sure if his value would be higher now in off season...he could have a crap start to the year like Hall did and then we get even less.

I want the best return available that makes the Sabres better regardless of what team and conference. I don't give a crap if people think that "I don't want play Eichel in the second round of the playoffs". Did you hear what you just said, second round of playoffs. This team hasn't made the playoffs in ten years. If getting the best return gets me to the second round of the playoffs, then I want to face Jack and show him that the Sabres are better without him!!!

I have thrown the idea around of trying to trade Jack for Tkachuk, or somehow offering a package Tampa can't refuse for Cirelli. But the I dove deeper and just don't like either of their contracts. Tkachuk makes $9 million in the last year of current deal which means his QO is $10mil, no thanks!! Cirelli makes $7.2 million in the last year of his contract. His QO would start at $8mil, a little better but not sure I would go there.

They have enough offense spread through out the line up so even if a couple players are struggling, someone else is there topic up the slack.

Trade Jack, Sam, and Risto to gain picks and more young talent. One more season of futility and another top pick next year. 22-23 will be the year of growth and Sabres will see the signs of life.

If Beniers ends up being who the Sabres want, doesn't KA call Francis and the Kraken to trade down one pick. Seattle agrees to take Power and leave Beniers for Buffalo. The Sabres then could also require that Seattle take player X in the expansion draft. If your wondering why Seattle would do this, think of all the publicity Seattle would get by taking the #1 overall picking their first year.
-
I'm trading down with Seattle to have them take KO in expansion draft. I then trade down to NJ or Vancouver if they want to take Hughes!!
-
Some potential players Seattle could pick and then trade to Sabres for Reinhart... Bellows - NYI Fluery- Anaheim Graves- Colorado Hartman- Minnesota McCann- Pittsburgh Dunn- St Louis
-
Speaking of Kraken this ties into my latest thought... Sam is Western canadien kid who has expressed interest in going back out west. Could he be a part of a deal with Seattle and become the first captain of the Kraken? Here me out... Sam gets a fresh start, gets to move out West, and stays in the US where his contract is worth more. He may not want to be a part of a building franchise but as Vegas has shown you can be very competitive right away. So KA goes to the Kraken and says you pick X players from, X teams and we will trade you Sam for those players. In trading the Kraken Sam there is aside agreement to select either Eakin or Miller in the expansion draft thus the Sabres not losing any of their young players. Obviously the players coming back for Sam would have to be NHL caliber players who just need a chance. Have not really looked at the current rosters of all teams, but in relation to Vegas this would be players like Karlsson, Marchessault, Tuch, and Theodore who thrived once given the opportunity.
-
What if the Sabres traded players like Jack, Reino, and Risto for prospects and lots of picks. Could the Sabres then use those picks to steal players away from teams who may not want to lose a players to Kraken for nothing. Just imagine the Sabres getting several NHL players who will not be protected by current team.

Eichel will be a Sabre to start the season. Wouldn't be surprised if he is moved around Christmas depending on how season starts. Sabres need to maximize return by showing he is healthy!!
-
Play by play guy keeps saying wrong names and even wrong team when referencing trades, players, etc. I am a casual fan and know the players names and what team they play for.
-
FLA vs. Tampa is going to be an awesome series!! Announcers are horrible though and keep confusing their teams.
-
Screw you Bruins and the refs trying to help you!!
-
They both come from fathers who played the NHL and have been around the game their whole life. I just feel Sabres fans would fall in love with the hard nose game Tkachuk plays and he would become the face of the franchise if Sabres decided to move on from Jack during or after this next season.
-
jack will be hard to trade because of the injury. I hold on to him until at least the trade deadline so sabres can maximize the return. I do want to move on from sam as I believe his value is high after this past season and he does not want to be here long term I would trade Reinhart and Sabres 1st rd pick to Calgary for Tkachuk and Calgary 1st rd pick. This would allow Flames to pick a top level D to replace Giordano when he retires. Sabres would still get a top 10 draft pick but solidify a player that would thrive in buffalo in Tkachuk.

Will Jack's Role On This Team Be Different Next Year?

Gallant or Torts?
-
Finding a coach with some emotion is a must...Sabres have not had a coach with passion since Ruff was let go. I like Torts because he strives for his players to play the right way all the time. If you aren't willing to play a 200ft game then you don't play. Not sure if that would mesh with some of the current stars on the team, (Eichel, Sam, and Skinner) but who knows. I also like Gallant because of his experience with Vegas. He took a bunch of players that other teams didn't want and got them to the playoffs in his first year. Getting a solid goalie tandem is also a must. I believe Sabres will offer Ullmark a 3yr $4-5million AAV contract. Not sure if he would get more on the open market? One of Risto, Reinhart, or Olofsson I feel will be moved to bring in goaltender or more physical top six forward.
-
I believe Sabres can send down anyone who would not have to clear waivers to go down. Houser, Bryson, Samuelsson, R2, and Murray should be sent down to get more games.
-
And to think the Sabres passed on Draisaitl and selected Reinhart the year before.

Brawndo is always one step ahead of everyone when it comes to new developments.
