Be the GM and get us to the cap floor next year
sweetlou replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
Copp is UFA after this season, so KA can just go and offer a nice contract without giving anything up. -
Is this the new core for the next 5 years that will get Sabres back into the playoffs Forwards- Tuch, Thompson, Krebs, Cozens, Quinn, and Skinner Defense- Dahlin, Joker, Power, and Mule Goalie- UPL, Portillo??, Levi?? wait and see- Peterka on the bubble or moved for younger vets- Mitts and Olofsson

my take on TDL and off season https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3081594 -
I would do Olofsson to Rags for d prospect Nils Lundkvist and 22' 2nd rd pick (whatever pick is better between Blues and Rags pick) and also include goalie swap of Georgiev for Anderson. Olofsson and Anderson for Georgiev, Lundkvist and 22' 2nd rd pick. Let Georgiev and another UFA vet split duties next year. I want to see UPL play one full year in Rochester.

Vic at a 3 year extension under $4.5 AAV you keep him. If he wants longer term or more money, you trade him.
-
I would include Olof in a hockey trade!! Maybe Adams can pry JT Miller away from the Canucks??
-
It may take another three years of player development and experience but could the Sabres be "the Team" come 2025?? Listed major players on roster and not JAG's who could be filled by veterans. Stamkos- Thompson is closest comparable Kucherov- Mitts and Quinn (neither will be as good, but combined could come close) Point- Krebs Killorn- Tuch Palat- Skinner Cirelli- Cozens Hedman- Dahlin McDonagh- Joker Sergachev-Power Cernak- Samuelsson Vasi- UPL/ Levi/ Portillo Gourde- Paterka I purposely left Olofsson off because I don't think he will be around in a few years. I also have no idea about future picks who could be our young prospects in a few years.
-
I think a more realistic goal this off season is getting Rutta to sign as an UFA. Give him two years around $3million AAV. Would be good mentor for young players.
-
So if Sabres win the lottery, would this be enough to pry McDavid from Oilers? 1st overall Shane Wright 2023 2nd rd pick Mitts Bjork Johnson

Two more great misses last year by the Sabres and half the league are Sam Bennett and Anthony Duclair in Florida. Last night the two of them skated circles around the Stars. Duclair 1g, 2a, +6 in 12:39 of ice time. Bennett 3g, 1a, +5 in 13:14 of ice time. Both play with speed and toughness.

Who Does KA Trade at the Deadline and What Does He Get For Them?
sweetlou replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Jan Rutta!!! -
Do the Sabres actually need more RHD or does it not matter?
sweetlou replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Jan Rutta is the perfect type of RD this team needs to play either with Power or Dahlin. Has played with Hedman the last few years, and is a UFA after this year. Tampa won't be able to keep him. -
My first ever game was February 12, 1986. Sabres lost 4-0 to Flyers but Gilbert Perreault gave me a puck during warm-ups. Favorite memories were hanging out by the locker rooms after the games in The Aud and getting pictures and autographs with Sabres and opponents after the games as they walked to their vehicles or team bus!!

DeBrusk asks Boston for a trade? Any interest?
sweetlou replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
R2 and Butcher for DeBrusk?? -
Friedman:Sabres are looking for Goaltending Help
sweetlou replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I would go for holtby or khudobin from Dallas, Korpi from Columbus or varlomov from islanders. -
Time for a great sweetlou trade proposal!!! Which trade does the board like better, and which one is more likely to happen?? Ducks- Drysdale, Comtois, 2022 1st rd (unprotected, and 2023 2nd rd pick Flames- Tkachuk, 2022 2nd rd pick Wild- Boldy, Greenway, Rask, 2022 1st rd pick (unprotected), and 2023 2nd rd pick Rangers- Chytil, Schneider, Strome, 2022 1st rd (unprotected), 2022 2nd rd pick
-
KA needs to hold his stance and see if any other GM gives up what the Sabres want until training camp. If there is no deal done have Jack sit and keep "rehabbing" all year. Just don't allow him around the team, let him stay in Boston for all I care. See what happens around TDL and see if any team is willing to give up the desired assets Buffalo wants!
-
KA will bridge Dahlin for 2 years. He'll get $4.5 million this year and $6.5, million for following year. AAv will be $5.5, but guarantees his next contract is $6.5 or higher
-
I hope they move on from Eichel sooner rather than later. To me he seems like he abides by his own rules and doesn't care about the team... He is very lackluster in his defensive responsibilities. I've never really fallen in love with his game and it didn't help that this video was one of my first impressions I ever had of him.
-
I was actually thinking they may go with Holtby and Oettinger as goalies and move Khudobin.
-
I'm still leaning toward Eichel being shipped to the Rangers. Drury wants to make a splash in his first season. I think the Rangers have the prospects. picks, and salary space to make it happen. Rangers get- Eichel- top line center who is one of the best offensive players in the league Akin-you want Sabres top player you have to take Eakin as well. Could help Rangers with depth/veteran guy. Sabres get- Ryan Strome- Sabres use as top line center for year until trade deadline. Is traded for picks and prospects. Is part of trade to help Rangers shed salary. Braden Schneider- big RD prospect drafted first round of 2020 Julian Gaunthier- big RW power forward prospect who was drafted in first rd of 2016 Alexander Georgiev- becomes Sabres starter is an RFA after year that we can extend fora couple more years until young goalie prospects are ready 2022 1st rd pick- protected if pick is top10.
-
Any chance with all the swedes in buffalo, KA can overpay and convince LANDESKOG to come to Buffalo and be the captain after they trade Jack!! maybe a 7 year $56million contract. AAV would be $8 million
-
I wish players had to keep the same number for 5 years before being able to switch numbers. Have a little decency for the fans that shell out money for your uniform!
-
The pick for Chicago has got to be Zadorov. He will sign a 4 year 4.25 million AAV contract as an RFA. Big, physical defenseman.
-
I bridge Dahlin at $5mil AAV over two years. $3mil next year and $7mil next year he has toshowme he can plain both ends before I would throw big money to him
