I'f I'm KA I ask Chicago is Toews waves NTC for Buffalo. Let him come here to center fourth line, be a mentor for all the young centers, he can win face-offs and is good on pk. I would want Toews for Bishop, Bjork, and Buffalo 3rd in 2024. Chicago drops 4million in cap hit, and saves 1.2 million in real money. Chicago also still above the cap floor.

This sheds salary for Philly to sign UFA Johnny Gaudreau. Trade Florida 1st and R2 to Florida for Mac Weager. Extend Weager for 5 years at $4.75-$5 million AAV. Good defenseman to pair with Power. If Flyers are serious about Gaudreau they need to shed JVR. If you have Gaudreau for the next 7 years are you worried about a mid to late 1st rd pick? I would definitely take JVR and Florida 1st and give Philly back their 2nd.

I have been advocating for KA to wait until Kane becomes a UFA and if Kane really wants to come home to Buffalo than great. The Sabres wouldn't have to give up anything. Since the blow up in Chicago I have changed my tune that if Kane wants out now and wants to come to Buffalo then I'd be willing to give up prospects and pick to get him now. This would give him a chance to play for the Sabres prospects now and see if he would want to sign as an UFA. If the Sabres are not close to making the playoffs, you could still always trade Kane at deadline and get most of your return back. Propsed deal- To Buffalo- Kane 25% salary retention To Chicago- Bjork, prospect Linus Weissbach, prospect Erik Portillo, and 2023 Vegas 2nd rd pick Chicago is freed of $7.5 million in cap space and gets a return for a player who will be gone after the year.

If KA is looking to extend him this off season I give him the line of being competitive and having a bunch of team players. I would sign him to a 6 year $5.5 million AAV contract. If he bets on himself and has another good year maybe he guest arbitration and gets awarded $7.5million. Sabres would only have tossing him for one year. This puts the pressure on the player to continue to improve to maintain current contract status. If he bets on himself and has a down year because of a healthy Mitts, and having Quinn and JJP in line up, he may only get offered a contract around $4-$5million with a shorter term.

Makar was already going down before Cirelli got his stick near Makr's knees. Makar lost his edge. Horrible call and directly lead to third goal. Look for Vasy to bounce back and play lights out in game 2. By the time the series gets back to Colorado, Tampa will be up 3 games to 1.

I did not put Nicholas Roy on list because he is a RFA, but I wouldn't mind if KA offer sheeted him or even traded a 2nd rd pick for him. He played well with Cozens at worlds and is a very good 2nd or 3rd line center. Move Cozens to his wing.

I do like me some Andrew Copp. Not sure if KA would pull that trigger as he probably blocks one of the kids.

I believe stability in goal is the one thing this team needs more than anything. A proven winner and great locker room guy. Tuch had only great things to say about MAF in end of season presser. As NYR showed this year, you can ride a great goalie to a successful season. Young forwards and defenseman will continue to make mistakes as they improve their games, but a young or inexperienced goalie can really bring down the whole team if they don't play well.

High stick?? Perry has his stick across his chest as he is skating by Shesterkin who is 2 feet outside of his crease. Even Boucher who was a goalie said during the intermission, that it was a sell job!!

This BS of goalies diving to get penalty calls is getting out of hand. I get wanting to protect goalies. If you look at half the cases where a goalie gets hit, the offensive player is getting pushed by the defenseman into the goalie. It's ridiculous how a goalie can be out of the crease and offensive player making a hockey move gets called for a penalty. Earlier in playoffs it was Smith, now Shesterkin takes a dive and throws himself and stick across the ice. If you are going toggle Perry a penalty there, (should not have been), then you have to given to Shersterkin for embellishment!! Totally changed the game. My take is if goalies leave the crease they are fair game. You want to open up the game. Make the goalies think twice about leaving the crease.
