UPL played behind the same crap defense last season in a contract year and was fantastic. It seems like everytime they get paid they become content which was always the worry with UPL since he only had a stellar 2nd half of the season. It wasn't all on him tonight but he has been mediocre all season long when we needed him to be last seasons UPL.

Yes, Achilles injuries are career killers in just about every sport and you can tell it’s done something to Quinn’s overall game imo. I know he only has 150 games but you can see something is clearly off.

The bolded is the part I don't like. We all know he has talent but is underachieving yet we should reward him by playing on the 2nd line? I think this is how we got in this mess in the first place. There is 0 accountability when a player isn't playing well here, in fact they seem to get even more playing time (Cozens/Power).

Besides his lack of production that injury is nasty in any sport, Anthony Duclair hasn't been the same since. Although he was much older I still don't think players come back very often from it.

So another player we're going to reward for being mediocre? When does it end? We should put him on the top 2 lines because he was dominating the AHL not because he has earned the spot? Seems like the Sabres way.

We have many mediocre guys that bring very little to the table but might entice another team such as Jack Quinn, Henri Jokiharju, Dennis Gilbert, Kubel, Bryson, Krebs. I heard Greenway would be open to re-signing with us this morning on WGR. I also heard the same about Zucker about a week ago on WGR also. re-sign those 2 and Peterka and get rid of all the above with the thinking of who cares if it's for 5th rounders at this point.

Definitely not untouchable but he is probably our 3rd best player on the team I'm not trading him away for some 28th, 29th overall pick in the draft. We can't even draft a correct player in the top 10 let alone that far down.

We're relying way to heavily on guys like Thompson/Tuch to be 1st line players but in reality these guys are 2nd liners on playoff teams. We need more high end talent, Misa/Martone or one of the others would be a nice start!
