Enjoy them winning meaningless games? There is zero chance they make the playoffs but hey now we'll pick 9th or 10th lose a shot at an elite player because they need those 5 extra wins to tell themselves they're better than how their playing, what a crock of ######. I have watched less than a handful of games all season, they're unwatchable and should have stayed that way until the end like they were supposed to.

This is pretty much like all of Buffalo sports teams, they were well on their way at picking up a complete stud like Dahlin or Svechnikov and now go on a meaningless win streak only to knock themselves out of contention, winning meaningless games at the end of the season will do nothing. The core guys have been playing together for 3 seasons now, how much time do they need to gel with one another? I get that it's a new system but they should know each other by now, obviously something is broken, Botteril needs to fix it.

We need speed, TKachuck is out, he is more of the same that we already have, a slow skilled player with hockey IQ, we need Svechnikov, he is the speedy winger but he's also 6'2" and scrappy. If we fall out of top 2 I agree we will be in on a defensemen, hoping Boqvist as I think he's the next best defensemen not named Dahlin.

Something just isn't right with Evander Kane, maybe it was just a fluke in Winnepeg but they seemed to have flourished once he was traded, maybe the same happens here.

All I know is I'd take a bag of pucks just to get Lehner and his 4+ million dollar ass off this roster, this guy is borderline awful, I'm looking forward to watching Ullmark next season with hopefully Dahlin in front of him, or hear's an idea, trade Kane for a defensemen? I would take that over some low level 1st rounder from a playoff team.

First it's Bylsma who was ruining the kids, now it's Housley, it's looking like these guys are just not meshing well with each other. Time for a fresh perspective.

You people are trade happy, the kid is 19 and struggling, he has brothers and family who are playing or played in the NHL, I'd give this 1 time, can't just keep trading off assets and taking a hit, sometimes you have to be patient as these young kids get acclimated to the game.

The NHL Draft in itself is strange, the lottery picks are done behind closed doors (Shady imo), then you have 18 year olds who are most likely not going to be playing for 3-4 years down the road, that being said I'm not sure that holds the same weight as the NFL. The kids coming up in the NFL are young adults (in their 20's), in the NHL it's teenagers who have a ton of growing up to do which should prompt the NHL to draft these kids when they're at least 20 so they can develop properly before being drafted and I'm sure the bust rate wouldn't be as high as it is.

What would have been worse would be if Bogo injured Kane and Kane was out 4-6 weeks with an injury.

I don't disagree but he just doesn't fit the system here one bit, maybe he'd be a good fit on the Kings? I just don't know how Botteril can keep him in this system, same with Okposo.

I actually think we have the right GM and HC for the first time in a long time. I just think we have the wrong personnel to run his system and to not make it seem like this team will be completely rebuilding I'd think they'll be trading pieces off bit by bit instead of selling the farm all at once but maybe I'm wrong, maybe they will go all in this year and sell off guys like Pomminstein, Okposo, O'Reilly and Kane or keep Kane and sell off the other 3, Lehner will most likely be gone also so they may as well trade him off before he walks for nothing and we can finally see our future goalie in Ullmark.

We need speed on the wings so Tkachuk wouldn't make much sense. I can't say I disagree with you but on the flip side, this isn't the right system for him, it calls for getting to the oppositions end with speed and he just doesn't posses that but Duclaire does, in fact there was an article that said he had elite speed which could have him flourish and he's a LW, a perfect replacement for Kane. Maybe Reinhart as a 2nd line center, move O'Reilly to RW could save him but would Housley actually do that?

I think Housley's style can definitely work, we obviously don't have the right personnel, he requires a fast up tempo pace and we have slugs like Reinhart, Pomminstein, Moulson, we need to get much quicker. This team reminds me completely of Edmonton where they had all of the same types of players. I've probably said that line many times but I believe it to be true.

I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Reinhart isn't dealt if the price is right.

I can't believe there are still fans who can defend the play of Lehner, he is constantly letting in soft goals, fans in Buffalo love to embrace the mediocre, GM Murray got robbed when he gave up a 1st for Lehner, I just hope management can see this guy isn't good enough.

Disney cruises are the way to go for the kids, I'm not sure how old your child is but they have Disney cruises for all ages, for boys there is a Star wars themed Disney cruise and you step into the cockpit of the millenium falcon, it was a blast. I went on a singles cruise to St. Thomas/Kozmel Mexico and Jamaica, it was an amazing time but I'm certain I may have a few children in other states that I'm not aware of, I miss you Tiffany... or was it Tina? Whichever, good times!!!

I would expect if the Sabres got a decent offer for Reinhart then GM Botteril would definitely take the offer, he's most likely a 30 point per season player, I'm not so much concerned about his speed but his 11 points so far this season is quite alarming even for a new system, the guy is a former #2 overall pick and should not have to have elite players for him to succeed. IMO even more so then Reinhart I'd like to see Kane traded at the deadline or before, I know some on here are adamant about keeping him but the fact he's only had one 30 goal season for the raise he's about to get won't be worth it and I'd like the Sabres to cash in because once this kid gets the contract, I believe he'll never live up to it. I'd love for us to get a decent Dman with some years still left on his contract so we can then draft the Russian RW Andrei Svechnikov who is not only big, can score but he has great speed to boot.

Will we ever get #1 overall pick in the rigged Lottery? Doubtful, but if we do get #2 overall I think it would be real hard to pass up on RW Andrei Svechnikov, he's exactly what were looking for, a fast, big framed skater with skill. Obviously the Kyle Okposo experiment didn't work out for us and Pomminstein shouldn't be a top 6 forward either. I see Kane traded by the deadline and Nylander called up from Rochester to fill a spot so we'll be adding some speed.

He is the Tyrod Taylor of the Buffalo Sabres, he will have some games where he makes you think he can be a franchise guy but you know by watching him he'll never be more than average and that is the very same with Lehner, he is an average goalie in the league, not remotely consistent enough to be a Stanley Cup winning goalie unless we have elite defensemen surrounding him which we obviously don't imo.

The Sabres don't even know how to trade correctly, Kane should have been traded months ago, now you are looking at playoff bubble teams and playoff contenders, so we'll be getting low draft picks and prospects for Kane? We need established young player/players not a draft pick and a prospect or 2 that may or may not pan out. Whatever we do we need to get much faster on both sides of the fence, team speed is a must.

It's a great move imo, Tyrod Taylor isn't the future and we need to see if Peterman is, if he isn't well then we will probably get a high enough draft pick to select a QB without giving up both and our 1st next year which I think that's what it will take to move up in the draft.

With Eichel I think were going to be getting more of a Mike Modano type of player than a Sydney Crosby which are/were both awesome for different reasons and Eichel seems more on par with Modano his 1st 3 seasons Eichel 56 pts., 57 pts. (75 pts., 64 pts and 77 pts), if we can get that type of production out of him I'll be quite happy.. I disagree with Kane, goal scorers will come at a premium and teams will see that his past character concerns look to be behind him, I think he'd fetch a top defensemen for sure, just my opinion though.To trade him away for a prospect would be dumb unless he is very highly rated since we could just draft one this season and resign Kane.
