  1. I had a premonition that he'll be our 1st draft pick this off-season.
  2. It's sort of the chicken vs the egg. With McCabe on D we reduce chances on our goaltending significantly and it slots the other players better as a group. Ullmark has developed beautifully but he is still a middle of the road NHL goaltender. He sticks out here more because of the lousy team in front of him. Part of that was coaching of course, but the team was 5-6-2 in games McCabe played under RK and then went 1-17-2 after his injury.
  3. Yes. He is the glue on the defense and although I like Ullmark, I think he is actually easier to replace then McCabe for this team.
  4. Top 3 after Eichel are Reinhart, Dahlin and McCabe Top 3 after Eichel in a few years Dahlin, Reinhart and Berniers over Mittelstadt and Cozens but it's close. I see Berniers as the better playmaker then Mitts and Cozens who I think will be our top goal scorers.
  5. You try to spell after hanging out in Nola for 4 days
  6. I didn’t see the game. Was Togaraki bad or the kiddie Corp D group?
  7. But we don’t decide team leadership. We may have opinions on who is a leader but the players, coaches and GM couldn’t give a flip about our opinions
  8. Who cares what the internet thinks. His actions on the ice says leader. What his coaching staff and fellow players think is what matters. Many of these same internet voices and commentators said Mitts was a bust, Dahlin was heading that way and the Sabres had zero talent. The truth is obviously very different.
  9. You don’t think his excellent play recently despite the season essentially being over is real leadership? Maybe not vocal leadership but certainly on ice effort leadership.
  10. More proof today of RK’s total incompetence. Dahlin is 2nd in the NHL in goals (3) and points (10) in the last 12 games. RK needs to write a book about how to turn a Norris talented defenseman into the NHL’s worst D in 4 easy steps.
  11. Since when do the Canadian media know anything about hockey from other countries?
  12. They are not related. For that to be true Kjell and Ulf would have to brothers. They aren’t. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nationalpost.com/sports/hockey/nhl/nhl-filled-with-history-of-brotherly-love-2/wcm/98704830-f50e-404e-b42f-303430eab073/amp/
  13. I assume this is sarcasm. Scored 20 again this season despite everything that has happened and the short season. I there is a “guarantee”on this team Sam is it.
  14. No. Just very large Swedish players with the same last name.
  15. I like Asplund better also but they go with the more physical player who the GM just gave up Taylor Hall for.
  16. He is Kjell’s son. No relation to Ulf. I’ve said before he is a better version of Bergen and that was pretty obvious last night.
  17. The results of the last 3 Bruins games gives me more hope for the kids but also makes me realize that moving on from Eakin and KO is a necessity. I also think R2 is done with the minors. Eakin needs to be sent to the AHL and KO needs to be the 13th forward. This opens up two slots to add more jam and/or scoring to this current group while giving us the possibility of rolling 4 lines and moving Skinner off Jacks wing if the coaches are interested. I think Mitts is earning a permanent job as the 2/3c for next season. Reinhart also looks very comfortable at center. Honestly the greater responsibility has elevated his game. That said Cozens looks fine there as well, however Jack is clearly better then them all. Finally a deep and talented Center group regardless of how they lineup. The next question is do we protect Bjork or Asplund. My guess is Bjork. If that is the case, Seattle grabs Asplund. Olofsson Jack Cozens Skinner Reinhart ???? R2 Mitts Thompson Girgensons ????? Bjork KO Now how do we find the 2RW with jam and scoring ability?
  18. Nice win by the Sabres last night. In Nola having a good time and missed the last couple games. Looks like UPL was solid. Nice to see the team show some backbone until the 3rd. Should help their confidence that they can dominate even the big bad Bruins if they do the work.
  19. No but it had been trending down consistently since his Oiler days except his puck luck MVP year. 1st 4 years in Edm 11.5%, last 2 years in Edm 9%, MVP year 14% in NJ, NJ average outside the MVP year 7.6, 1/2 season in AZ 8.1 and then Buffalo 2.3. Not exactly a great shooter. Just for reference: Sid's career is 14.5%, Ovie is 12.8%
  20. A top line. Depth scoring. At least one Norris quality D man and solid goaltending. Not much really. It also helps to pay productive players.
  21. Jbot did that as well and it left us short of draft picks for the last 4 years without great results at the NHL level. No 5 & 6 in 2017, no 3rd in 2018, no 2nd or 7th in 2019 and no 3 & 4 in 2020. Those deals didn't really make us better. Simmonds, Sheary, Vesey, Montour, and Miller didn't exactly make us better. Deeper maybe, but not much better. At Jbot seems to have made good choices with the picks he did have.
