  1. Would u rather have Borgen or Power?
  2. So here is where we stand with 6 picks left We have 15 forwards (14 min), 7 D (9 min), 2 G (3 Min) with 17 NHL contracts (20 min) The biggest issues with the team so far is incredibly to many expensive centers. Rask, Tierney and Henrique is one to many centers of this mid level caliber. The team could also use another more experienced D. Cap Hit is currently 60.99 mill. The only change that I'd make so far is swapping Rask from Min for their young goalie Kahkonen who is signed for 1 yr at 725K. In the remaining 6 picks they need at least 2 D and 1 goalie and 3 guys with NHL deals.
  3. I'm breaking my own rule. Sea is going to grab Gourde from the Lighting to center Tarasenko. He's 29 with 4 years left at 5.166 per season.
  4. 20 picks are in 12 F, 6D, 2G 13 NHL contracts with a cap of 48.6
  5. I see you went to the Pi school of following instructions. (agree with the choice) Agree. Nice choice
  6. My thought as well until I saw the injury report.
  7. Half way 8 forwards, 6 D and 1 G 9 NHL contracts - cap hit approx 28.4
  8. For Dallas I'd grab Adam Mascherin 23 year old C and an RFA.
  9. None. I won't believe it until I see it.
  10. 11 picks in and thanks PI for using alphabetical order. 5 F, 5 D, 1G with only 7 NHL contracts. Next up Dallas, Det and Edm
  11. We need 29 people (28 plus me) to each take a team, except FLA which the Seattle taking their UFA goalie is in the news. Look at their list of available players and have a couple ideas on who you think they will draft. We'll go in alphabetical order. One Team per person please. Rules must draft a min of 14F, 9 D, 3G with 20 NHL contracts worth at least 48.9 mill (and no more 81.5) I'll go last and take Winnipeg. Who wants to begin with Anaheim and Arizona? Please post player, position, cap hit and contract status. 1. Ana - Henrique - C - 5.825 2. Ariz - Bunting - LW - UFA 3. Bos - Lauzon - D - 850K 4. Buf - Borgen - D - RFA (drafted) 5. Cgy - Giordano - D - 6.75 6. Car - Bean - D - RFA 7. Chi - Zadarov - D - RFA 8. Col - Compher - W/C - 3.5 9. CBJ - Gerbe - W - 750K 10. Dal - Mascherin - C - RFA 11. Det - Strecher - D - 1.7 mill 12. Edm - Benson - LW - RFA 13. Fla - Driedger - G - UFA - signed by the Kraken 14. LA - Wagner - C - 1.133 15. Min - Rask - C - 4 mill Alt ( 16. Mon - Price - G - 10 mill 17. Nsh - Jarnkrok - F - 2 mill 18. NJ - Bastian - RW - 715K 19. NYI - Bellows - C/LW - RFA 20. NYR - Blackwell - C/RW - 725K 21. Ott - Tierney - C - 3.5 mill 22. Phi - Ghost - D - 4.5 23. Pit - Pettersson - D - 4.025 24. SJ - Donato - LW - RFA 25. Stl - Tarasenko - RW -7.5 mill 26. TB - Gourde - C - 5.167 27. Tor - McCann - LW - 2.94 28. Van - Bowey - D - 725K 29. Wsh - Vanacek - G - 716K 30. Wpg - DeMelo - D - 3 mill
  12. Don't we want a player + for Ristolainen? It seems like the standard rumor amount. Not to little, but not crazy either.
  13. Setting the price for Ullmark?
  14. Here is my latest and updated spreadsheet. I have 15 final "ballots" from reliable sources; Button & McKenzie (TSN), Wheeler and Pronman (The Athletic), McKeens, ISS, Smaht, THN, Draft Prospect, FC, Sportsnet, Draft Analyst, Elite Prospects, Dobber and Hockey Prospect. There are 13 players on all 15 ballots (ISS ranks skaters and goalies separately). The top 10 is firm. Powers at 1, Beniers 2, Eklund 3 are clearly the consensus top 3 players. Clarke, Hughes and Guenther are 4-6. The next level down (7-10) are Edvinsson, McTavish, Johnson and Wallstadt. All 4 could go higher or lower but they are unlikely to fall to far. 11-13 are Lucius, Sillinger, and Lysell. Nearly unanimous picks (14 ballots) are 14-20 in three tiers. 14 is Svechkov and then a clear gap to 15-18 Raty, Cossa, Coronato and Lambos. 19 & 20 are Othmann and Chibrikov. Svechhkov has ratings as high as 6th and as low as 30th. On 12 or 13 ballots are 21-23 Rosen, Olausson and Pinelli and I expect Pinelli to fall some. On 10 or 11 ballots are 24-27 Ceulemans, Bourgault, Bolduc, Robertsson. Rounding out the list with 8 or 9 ballots are players 28-33 Stankoven, Toumaala, L'Heureux, Dean, Samoskevich and Chyka. After the above 33 there are a record 31 additional players also receiving at least one 1st rd grade. The names I'd keep an eye on popping into the 1st rd are Pastujov, Behrens, Svozil, Martino, Koivunen and Morrow.
  15. My Top 3 right now are Eklund, Beniers and Clarke
  16. The injury season was a huge setback for someone who was clearly dominate in the AHL. KO's injury was also a big setback to another player that looked rejuvenated under Granato. Putting up 9 points in 12 games under DG was the best hockey he had played for us since his first season here.
  17. It's kind of sad to think that a guy most people here think Borgen is a shoe in for our top 6, but isn't good enough to crack the top 8 for an expansion team.
  18. That would be fine by me.
  19. He is an UFA and they can just sign him. I believe they have an exclusive window to talk to UFAs.
  20. So who will they take? I initially thought they'd take Miller without incentives, but now I think we'll have to give them something if we want them to take Miller. Borgen was the obvious choice until I realized the he must make their team or be lost to waivers and with the number of quality D men available, he'll have a hard time making the squad. Finally, I'm going with a dark horse; Girgensons. Just a gut feeling. Every team now wnats fast physical players on their 4th line and he fits that description.
  21. Which Sabre Benefited Most Last Season from Granato Taking Over As Coach? We have seen the night and day comparisons for guys like Bryson, Mitts, Skinner, Asplund, Thompson and others. So who in your mind benefitted most from the change. My opinion might surprise some, but I think Dahlin benefited the most from the change. It was like a 300 lbs ball and chain was removed from his ankle and he was free to play as the hockey gods intended. Mitts was a close second. So who will benefit most this season? Cozens is an obvious choice because he wore down as the season progressed and is almost certainly going to be one of our most improved players this coming season. However the guy I see really taking another step up under Granato is Asplund. We really didn't notice, until he played with Mitts, but this guy has actually improved statistically each year he has played pro hockey. The only step backs if you will is when he entered a new league. 2014-15 - .085 pts/gp SHL 2015-16 - .26 SHL 2016-17 - .49 SHL 2017-18 - .56 SHL 2018-19 - .55 AHL (New league & 1st in NA) 2019-20 - .58 AHL 2019-20 - .10 NHL 2020-21 - .39 NHL (32 pt pace) Granato loved him playing on Mitts or Cozens wing last season and I suspect he'll play with one of those 2 this season and put up over 40 points.
  22. I would love this if it happens. I doubt it, but there is always hope. At least late last season he was no longer a waste of space.
