  1. This is the beauty of baseball, because it's on every night. Rarely do I get glued to it for more than a handful of innings, but it's reliable background entertainment.
  2. Sadly, I look forward to the games even when they suck. I just look forward to them less.
  3. William von Barnekow
  4. In Canada we use the "the". In fact, I'm just about to hop on the QEW and will need to get off on the 403.
  5. The Must Win banter in the gameday chat is the #1 most tired "buzzword" in or out of the Sabrespace world.
  6. The description on the X says "Disagree", not "No". What you're saying makes more sense... though a written No response could have been done in just 4 clicks. 1 Quote button 2 N 3 O 4 Submit Reply
  7. Taro- You're disagreeing with me when I'm asking a question? Seriously, what do we know?
  8. Do we even know how serious the injury is yet?
  9. He's got 12 points on 17 games this year and has looked really good. Having him in the lineup gives us 3 legit scoring lines. Not that he's the lone driver on this... He just kind of completes the offense.
  10. I haven't double checked this, but my sense is this is probably the correct answer.
  11. One week later he's down to a 52pt pace.
  12. We seem to have steady goaltending now which wasn't the case before. If Quinn's "longer term" injury is on the Skinner "week to week" side of long, the all-star break couldn't have come at a better time. If he comes back, I'll say this end of season playoff push will be worth watching. Otherwise, let's get into the all too familiar next year mode.
  13. Who's playing better in Rochester... Bryson or Clague?
  14. Is it just me, or are these circular graphs really hard to look at. A simple bar graph would be a lot more intuitive. Or better yet a table with the actual numbers.
  15. That's been the story, but he's been mediocre since day 1, even before he had missed any games. If this is something that's been nagging him since last season, I'd rather see him pack it in, get the necessary surgery or treatment now and see 2022-23 Thompson back for 2024-25.
  16. Remember last year when he used to do that all the time? After McDavid, he was probably the most exciting player in the league. I thought Cozens was trending in the same direction. It's a shame they both regressed so hard.
  17. Looking at Adam's recent acquisitions really shows what being cheap gets you (5 on 5 relative xGF%). Greenway being the notable exception... Though playing the majority of his minutes with Mittelstadt might have something to do with it.
  18. Trade some of our prospects for good players, especially D. Stop bringing in the bargain bin guys like Johnson and Clifton. New coach to whip Thompson, Cozens, and Tuch into being more accountable.
  19. As I understand it, Adderall and a lot of the ADD medications could be use to seriously improve focus and reaction times. As such, they are quite rampant in the e-sports community. This is an interesting article (somehow it was free for me, despite being the Athletic) https://theathletic.com/1281343/2019/12/03/lars-anderson-to-play-mortal-or-not-my-experience-trying-adderall-as-a-ped/
  20. 25yo $50 million 2 kids Not how I would have done it. 😁
  21. People have been speculating about PED use in sports forever... seriously, this is not new. I don't have to be right about it either. As a paying fan of the team who's watched the #1 center look like a mere shadow of himself with a nearly unprecedented drop off in production... going from a SportsCenter highlight almost every night to maybe one this year- I'm going to muse about this as a possibility. I'll also check in here to see if anyone else thinks this could be a possibility. It's harsh reality in sports these days that some fans seem unwilling to accept. I guarantee you this type of conversation is going on all the time in other sports message boards. Not sure why we have to be so sensitive here.
  22. That's a pretty good example. One thing to consider some employers will test their employees for drugs after an incident, even when there is no evidence to support that anything was below board.
  23. You're welcome to disagree. The Colo thing was a shock to me so I'll always wonder this going forward. Just my own experience.
  24. I'm not saying he's on PED's. I did say it's likely he needs surgery and/or is not as motivated as he was last year. I will say his falloff from 94 points to a projected 54 (albeit in 6 less games) is pretty unprecedented. Given the extreme fall off (way more than anyone I recall who subsequently went on IR or get surgery), my mind harkens back to Colabello... whether it's right or not. Also, if he does need surgery (the most likely case- given a full offseason didn't seem to help), we should probably put him on IR now so he's back ready for next year. Last year, he had you out of your seat almost everytime he touched the puck. This year, you could count on one hand the number of times he's had a holy 💩moment. If it's not an injury, I'd consider shopping him while he still has some of last year's shine on him.
  25. The NHL is a league where players play through injuries. If Thompson is hurt he isn't the first, and he's surely not the last. That said, I don't recall seeing players drop off this drastically as shown below. It was such a treat to watch him last year. So many highlight reel plays.
