It just goes to show you that with 25% increase of competence would be good enough for another 10 points. With all that has transpired just flip 5 wins or 3 wins with 4 loser OT points and we'd be on track. That is how much of an outlier of futility we are that in 13 years we could not achieve this scenario. It's really not that hard to make the playoffs.

Hire Gallant and give him roster freedom and he would have this team around 100 points next year easily.

The right coach could make this team instantly competitive. If we run it back, next year is year 14.

At Thanksgiving this team was not measuring as anything close to a playoff team. Going into New Years we are now nearly terminally behind in the standings (without a miraculous turn around) and need to do what this team has not done once yet this year, go an an extended winning streak and completely turn around play from here out. There is no rational evidence to suggest such. The attention now needs to turn towards the future and where do we go from here long term. No way this coaching staff makes it much longer for one thing. Secondly, the GM has not delivered any significant improvement in 4 years. There are several accomplished veteran coaches on the market. Time to go that direction imo.

I dislike this team save a few players. They don’t bring consistent effort or take pride in the sweater. Too often embarrass us, especially at home. It’s getting toxic in our own rink. I think most of Buffalo fans feel the same. Adam’s and co. are not connecting to the city.

They need a 6-8 game type win streak and 15 of the next 20 type pace to get back in it. They haven’t won 2 in a row more than once this year. Safe to say this season is a disaster. Another top 10 pick. Will there be any accountability?
