Congrats Vegas. Team is loaded. Stars, but more importantly, key supporting cast that always seems to contribute. Complete team top to bottom. And somehow they even find a new starting goaltender midway through the playoffs and don’t miss a beat.
Vegas should be looking to take Tkachuk out of the series anyways. Now they have more incentive. He’s the only real threat the Panthers have anyways. Vegas up 4-0 tonight gives them the perfect opportunity to remove Tkachuk for good.
I don’t think he will be a bust. He’ll be really good. He’s not McDavid level good. He won’t impact hockey games to that level, but he will be a really good player. I won’t predict enshrinement into the HOF yet though.
F Chicago
They just lost BOTH of their icon players, Toews and Kane. I hate that they won this. Ugh. Luckily even Bedard alone won’t be able to turn that franchise around. They will need to keep tanking a few more years. Which they probably will.
Draisaitl is sooo good. Could be the second time in back to back nights that a player scores four goals and his team loses a playoff game. That has to be extremely rare.
Yeah even Meier with NJ had zero points in this seven game series. It definitely is a crap shoot to add at the deadline. Definitely hasn’t helped some teams that it looked like it certainly would at the time.
What a great couple days. First the Bruins and now the Rags are gone. Kane wanted to be a Ranger so badly. He chose poorly. Love it. Hope he rots somewhere next year when no one wants to pay him big bucks.
Assuming Sabres beat Columbus tomorrow, they will end up missing the playoffs by ONE point. 1 point behind Florida due to that loss to the Panthers just last week.
The reaction time between Levi and a 41 year old Anderson has never been more apparent after tonight. Anderson has had the post save him multiple times when he has been too slow reacting.
The PP has been struggling quite a while now. The power play has been bottom half of the league since the all star break. They were phenomenal the first half of the season.
It’s just mystifying how they haven’t tried to change anything up all year. Certainly a lot of the blame is the players and goaltending during the PK but when things aren’t working, that’s when coaches have to help out by changing things up in philosophy.
