KA won’t do anything until Pegula tells him his seat is hot. I believe from KA’s attitude all off season was that he has job security here for the foreseeable future and he has handled business in exactly that way. As someone who can afford to have patience because the owner told him he’s safe for awhile. There is no other explanation for KA’s absolute refusal to show urgency to actually become a playoff team.

Actually it’s been comical for 13 years

Sabres special teams cost them a playoff spot last year due to league worst PK. This year special teams has cost them numerous games. Equally horrible PK and PP this year. I don’t see how that’s not 100% on the coaching staff.

Sabres never can take advantage of the few great chances they get. That puck is inches away from being in. Ridiculous.

Yep. Wings were supposedly behind us on the team development scale as of last year. They made solid moves and are now clearly ahead of this franchise.

More outstanding defensive play in front.

That high scoring team from last year is long long gone and the defensive side of things is as bad as last year. Gonna be a longggg season now. Granato should probably be rooting for these injuries now, it’s the only thing that may save his job til next year.

This has been going on for 13 years. History repeating itself. We just have a new group of “core” young players who have no idea how to win or what it takes to win in this league and they were given the keys to the kingdom before they were ready and had proven themselves. The Sabres have been doing this exact thing for years now and it never ever works.

If only the Sabres would have had a GM that would have realized all this back in July when it should have been fixed.

Amazing they actually made the right call. I’m shocked

All Kevyn has been doing is selling Pegula on patience with the young guys. It’s only buying Kevyn more time as an NHL GM, nothing more. It’s not translating to being a winning organization or actually playing playoff games. Eventually Pegula will realize this. Sadly by that point, we will have extended our streak of futility to 13, 14, 15 … years.

Kevyn is still too busy looking for players that want to be in Buffalo. No wonder he is having such a hard time building a winner here.

Maybe if we put ALL three of them on net at the same time we might do ok??

Bad luck? Bad goaltending

We now live in a world where the Winnipeg Jets are laughing at us and our putrid goaltending. I wonder when Kevyn will ever get embarrassed?!! I won’t hold my breath.

At least last year we felt like this was an ascending team in the league. This years team not only hasn’t taken the next step, I think you could make a healthy argument they have regressed and not sure there will be any help from above forthcoming.

There is no sense of urgency with the head coach or GM, because they know they are safe no matter what. It’s trickling down to the players.

Sabres got six out of eight points this week. It certainly wasn’t pretty the last three games but we desperately need the points anyway we can get them.

If only we had a GM capable of putting an NHL qualify defense on the ice. Maybe next season. Adams has a five year leash. He’s in no real hurry.

Agreed. They will give him more chances than he is worth due to his part in the trade. Front office has to do their best to “win” that trade.
