  1. Thanks buddy.
  2. Joel still out there?
  3. 'The move wasn't made as a way of sending a message to wedgewood and Wilcox that they are at risk of losing games.'. LOL
  4. Jbott is a big believer in developing guys in the A. I’m also fine with this approach. I want to make the playoffs bad but jbot is smart to be looking a year or two out.
  5. I see what you did there ?
  6. Are you calling my thingie small??
  7. Am I the only one that is more than a little worried about what this deal is going to look like? If its Kanes 7 x 7 then sign me up. Something like 8 x $9? I'm not sure I want to go there.
  8. Hahhahahah I wouldn't mind that. But if Smith is just sitting in the press box I would rather him back down in Roch.
  9. Although this sure can happen I don't think this is unique to Canada or to hockey in general. I've been to see nephews play soccer and baseball and it's similar. I can't say for certain but I imagine football in the southern states also have these issues. I should mention that both of my boys started hockey over the past couple of years and parents are now required to take an online seminar on how to behave. They talk about everything from how the referees are usually young teenagers trying to earn money to coaches being volunteers and this isnt the Stanley cup playoffs. This is a requirement. The kids cannot take the ice until the parents have completed the seminars. Additionally every arena in our city has the same sign on the door saying 'this is not the Stanley cup playoffs and the game is for FUN.' I'm not doubting this is still a problem but hockey Canada does seem to be trying to address the issue. Also, I just don't want this to be painted as all Canadians as I've been to many minor league games without any incidence. It is disgusting though that some parents do these types of things.
  10. He is, without question, my favourite Sabres prospect. Mainly because so many collective heads exploded when he was made the Sabres third round selection.
  11. As long as NS doesn't start the GDT I don't care how early it gets started ;)
  12. Spit my coffee out while reading this. Well done sir.
  13. Canada Finland tomorrow. That sucks as I have to root on the Canadians but was hoping Finland went far based on the two Sabres prospects.
  14. I love reading your posts NS. Just saying, I think you may be a jinx on the gdt’s ? Everyone has their flaws ?
  15. Your on the clock NS ? Not sure they’ve won a game all season with you starting the GDT!
  16. Yep. I have no problem at all with the gap closing. It's becoming a great rivalry.
  17. Yes, winning the tourney last year and McDavid say hello ? Also, love the play from Laaksonen. He seems to love jumping into the O zone and Finns have him on their number one power play.
  18. Big congrats to pi on dominating the season and winning the league. I didn't win but as long as wildcard doesn't then it feels like a win to me!
  19. Merry Christmas Sabrespace. I've really enjoyed reading and interacting with all of you over the past ten plus years. More recently, these threads and the teams play have helped me through a very dark time in my life. Looking forward to renewed health and a great 2019. All the best to everyone who takes part in this crazy corner of the Internet!
  20. Interesting. Ok thanks. I use my iPad at home and it requires I download the app and then says I am not eligible go download it due to my location. I have an old laptop and I'll give that a try next. Thanks!
  21. I wish I could. Your from Canada as well. How do you get wgr550? I use to stream it from the website no problem but now that they've gone to the damn radio.com App I can't download it as it's unavailable in Canada.
  22. Yep, agreed. The nice thing is everything has gone perfectly with the current D this season. Dahlin and Pilut were added and they look like they both have the potential of being top 4. McCabe and Bogo have recovered from last years injuries and both playing at a high level (hopefully McCabe gets back there with his return). So that's basically 4 D that we didn't have last year. I think we can now afford to let Guhle take the longer development path. Should end up working out better for the player and organization.
  23. Not a popular opinion but Im fine with switching these lines up. The other day Phil said (paraphrasing) he would like more scoring from the bottom nine but the top line is scoring so well just don't get your head caved in. Look, nobody is scoring other than the top line now anyways. The defensive specialists are now spread out over the three lines. We will continue to live and die by the top line, PP and defensive scoring. Hopefully this way were more likely to keep the puck out of the net when the top line isn't out there. My top wish list is a legit 2c to create another scoring line but until that happens I'm fine with mixing it up.
  24. All of this. He's certainly not slow but his straight line speed is not as fast as I thought it would be. But he more than makes up for it with his edge work and unbelievable hockey iq. The decision making is top notch. He makes difficult passes look routine and has dramatically improved the ability to break out of the zone. We are truly lucky to have a franchise centre and franchise dman. We won't be winning the cup this year but we should have some fun watching hockey over the next few years.
