I wish they were eliminated altogehter. Keep the contracts guarenteed if you want but trades are what brings excitement to fans. Fans paying ludicrous money on tickets and merch is what pays for those guarenteed contracts. Eliminate no trade clauses in every sense of the word. Just my 2 cents....

Still feels like plenty of room. I’m not seeing big picture yet. Unless there are some big moves coming, I’m not sure why they do this now. They still have decent space to replace skinner in the top 6 and just have him play lower in the lineup or in the press box as depth in case of injury. Overpaid sure but don’t know why were extending the cap hit longer when it seems we have the space next season anyway?

Sorry if I missed it but does anyone know how much cap space we have available this offseason prior to the buyout? I kind of agree with this post. long term is it not better to atleast eat one more year and then buy out next offseason? Only benefit I see is if we actually use the cap savings this year. That in itself is exciting but it’s been awhile since we’ve spent big on salary. If this truly is for cap purposes I can’t help but think it may be a fun offseason.

Thanks Taro. Stood out to me the huge number of people who showed up on a Wed night in June. Sure seems like season ticket base has increased from last year which I found surprising. Awesome. Way more fun when the barn is full and vast majority there to cheer on Sabres. Now, if this team can play winning hockey next season is next question. Vibes of 05-06 if it happens. Look at the crazy support the bandits got. This city is ready to get behind a winning club.

Hey did you ask a question during the Q and A? My little guy asked the first question. ‘I just want to know if you’re gonna push this team to the limit.’ I didn’t know what he was going to ask haha. Nothing real interesting said during the session but fun event overall.

Maybe it’s all talk. At this point I also need to see it to believe it. But Adams is sure sounding different the last couple of post season pressers/interviews. Again, I need to see it but maybe he finally realizes his ass is on the line. I heard more urgency than ‘can’t block the prospects’ we’ve heard in off seasons past. I think he has a big summer.

I would also but unfortunately out of town that weekend. Keybank was louder on Sunday than I had heard for any Sabres game save for maybe the home opener.

Yes it was. Toronto gets bounced in absolute classic Toronto fashion, blowing a big lead late.

Hopefully that changes this offseason.

I went to my first Bandits game last month and was blown away by the energy. I can't wait for the Sabres to become relevant again. I want Keybank that loud for Sabres games. Grabed tickets to Sunday's semi-finals. Looking forward to it!

This is the thread I thought we would have about Quinn following the season. JJP was excellent. I’m excited to see what he can do in year 3 when players typically breakout. KA gushed about him falling in his draft year and so far he’s been spot on.

I don’t think KA cares about optics. I don’t know what Terry said to him but he sounded like a different guy after firing meatballs. He sounded confident in that press conference that he knew who his guy is. The same guy he knows very well and worked under. He wanted Ruff from before the moment he fired Donnie. If that’s his ride or die I’m fine he didn’t mess around and got who he wanted. The results from this are squarely on KA now though. If this doesn’t work we will be looking at a Gm search in 2 years or less.

This is an introductory press conference in April. While he was much more mellow than I remember, thinking that may change come October. Wasn’t my first choice but they’ve been a train wreck since he last left. He’s had previous success here and elsewhere in the league. Hope it’s the right move. Watching Donnie’s team get scored on in the first 5 min of every game and then seeing his sad demeanour and lack of communication on the bench was not working and I’m so glad were not running that back again.

The wings were horrible down the stretch. I talk regularly to a wings fan and there was no feeling of success for them either, despite their 2 additional wins.

This. Live sports is such a unique experience you can’t get sitting in front of the 70’’ tv. Getting to be stupid expensive unfortunately but I love the feeling Aud describes above. I just keep hoping the Sabres finally give us the experiences the bills finally produced the last few years.
