I don’t think we can say this until we know the salary. Erod at $1.5 is a nice piece for the price and skill set. At $2.65 that is no longer true imo. A one year at $1.8 or so is fine with me.

Ding ding ding. This is what it boils down too. TM and JB have completely different philosophies on how to win in the nhl today. I believe in the fast skilled model above the big physical one. Maybe that’s why I’m more than ok with where botts has this team. But again, sabres have to take that next step though or my thoughts will really sour. I think a 2c trade is coming and sabres really going to surprise this year.

Disagree. Atleast it’s something. He and McCabe are the only guys that clear the crease, that’s why it keeps happening. I don’t want to keep Risto solely for his physical play but I don’t think this is a quality that should be completely overlooked either.

If guys whack at the puck after the whistle he’s one of the only D that will do something about it.

You don’t have to fight to be tough. He’s doesn’t take crap after the whistle.

So good. He really is so good. Risto or no Risto it's going to be very interesting watching this young defense grow together. Dudacek is spot on. I fear what a physical team will do to us but there is miles and miles of potential right now. It really is shaping up to have the most potential that I've seen on this team since atleast the 05-07 teams. Not in style at all but contribution.

I was there last summer. They have some decent quality stuff. It really isn’t just the name and crap product. You think that’s good give prince Edward county a try out in picton Ontario. Better quality wine imo and without 99 percent of the corporate crap. Some good mom and pop ones out that way if you’re up for a drive. Great craft brew scene developing out there as well.

If you need to be motivated to do what’s necessary to crack one of the worst nhl rosters then good friggen riddance. All of our roch fans have been feeding consistent info on him and it was never questioning why he isn’t in Buffalo.

I think this is where you and I weren’t seeing eye to eye. I still disagree nylander is a better nhl player today than TT. Your 12 game sample size be damned ?. But yes if you have no interest in his age and where he is on his development curve then I could see how you got to essentially he’s not a great nhl player today. I’m still very intrigued in what he will develop into two or three years down the road but I concede he’s a fringe nhler today.

@Randall Flagg you just hate anybody and anything that has to do with the ROR trade. It’s shocking to me anyone thinks Nylander is a better prospect than TT. This has much more to do with nylander than how confident I am in what TT will become.

Some high praise out there for this kid. Never heard of him up until 5 min ago so taking some of it with a grain of salt.

I hope not. But if he's part of the package to bring in that 2C then so be it. If we ended up getting a nice 2C we should still have a formidable D and now have added middle 6 wingers in Vesey and MJ. As someone already mentioned, roster surgery is already well underway. Let's hope it works as well as Botts envisions but I'm down with making some big changes.

Potentially but should be noted his draft year was a full season later and D take longer to develop. It would be tough to write a bust label or anything close to that I'm assuming.
