We have a couple maybes who were late first or non first round picks in our system. They’ve played a handful of games on a terrible team playing meaningless games. Sorry if I’m not going to assume these kids are going to be NHL players. Let’s not over estimate their abilities and assume that we are all set at that position. Isn’t that exactly what we’ve been doing over and over again (along with horrendous drafting).

To be fair 31 and 32 OA are far from nhl prospects let alone ones we should be relying on. They are nothing more then magic beans at this point.

I would definitely be interested in a D. I really don't think our D is so good and have so many defensive prospects coming that you would exclude them due to position. IMO Colorado has an unbelievable top line but it's their top 4 that drive their offense IMO. I wouldn't mind copying that model.

To be fair I also agree that not doing anything in the off-season with goaltending was his worst blunder and I’ve shouted that from the rooftops. What was concerning with this decision was that Eakin vs Larry looked like a bad decision from an analytics perspective from the very moment he signed and that’s exactly how it played out. So it begs the question: is Nightengale terrible at his job as head of analytics or does KA not give a ***** about analytics altogether. Both situations are very concerning in their own right.

This is the signing and associated decision that made me think either Nightingale is completely incompetent in his job as head of analytics or Adams isn't listening to his analytics staff. Either way this is an enormous problem.

The one guy who is currently running that analytic department is doing a horrible job based on their recent roster moves. Karmanos sure has his work cut out for him.

So now it looks like we're going to be trading Eichel and we're going to be trusting a rookie GM who has already made some pretty big mistakes in his early tender to make that trade. Awesome. This franchise is an absolute tire fire.

Nope. The sabres need to address this. They obviously needed an upgrade at 2C and for 2 straight summers ignored it. This past offseason they have an obvious need in goal and they again ignore it. ADDRESS the ***** obvious problems in your organization.

That’s totally fair. But living in leaf country I unfortunately watch more leaf games then I care to admit and I’ve seen many games where I think if only Buffalo could get that level of goaltending. He’s for sure no All star but not a stretch to suggest he’s better then what we have now, including Ullmark.

I always thought Freddie Anderson would be decent for the right price. Although I'm sure Adams feels confident in his goaltending anyways. No sense in upgrading....

This exactly. Unfortunately I was there live in Ottawa tor Game 2 when Tim got wrecked. Game 1 of that series is still my favourite sabres game of all time. Connolly was nothing short of wizardry in Game 1 and many games leading up to that point. Losing all the D the next year hurt but losing Connolly was the biggest blow IMO.

If he looks at a list of moves the Sabres have made under Nigtingale's watch and concludes he is an answer to the problem then yes, the new guy is a bum, same as a long list before him.
