  1. Oh wow. I'm usually one for raunchy jokes, but yes, far too soon.
  2. Bump. It's funny reading through this now and seeing how pumped some were for the trade. I know we didn't give up anything of real value so it's fine he's waived but there were a few gems in here. Great first post by Naulter as well lol.
  3. Just slightly off gdt topic here but I listened to an interesting interview on NHL Radio the other day. I don't even know who they interviewed as I got in half way through it but it was obviously a scout (just not sure who his employer is) and he said although Eichel is going to be great, there is an American defenseman that is suppose to be projected to be better than Seth Jones in the next draft. He thinks he's the better prospect than Eichel. Now with our need for forwards I'm taking a forward next draft regardless. I just think that if we can get even a top 5 pick next year we're going to get a stud. If we end up with McDavid then look out. Although I agree with what Potato is saying next year looks like a draft you may not see for the next decade plus. By maybe giving some top prospects more time in junior or not signing a quick fix veteran does not mean he's not doing his job and should not be paid. This team has been mediocre for far too long. Finish the tank this year and tank hard next. After those drafts (coupled with some good prospects already in our system) and we are set up for the next 10 years.
  4. Ya I'm in this boat. Maybe it's that I've been so disappointed in the past. I don't get my hopes too high now but would love to see one piece moved in the next 24 hours. I don't want to leave all of our untraded players to the deadline and then try and make three big moves that day.
  5. I'm thinking that letting up less than a 5 spot may not help his trade value. He let up a bunch against Colorado recently and now 5 to Pitt. Those are good teams but if he can pull out a 1 goal against that may help any trade potential. Of course you are right in there is the risk of injury.
  6. So I would assume Miller is going again tonight right?
  7. You need five years service for that.
  8. Ya he's not helping his stock tonight, not that it's all his fault
  9. Sorry if this has been stated, but can we trade Moulson as he's on IR? Or did they retroactively put him on IR and he comes off of it after tomorrows game??
  10. I don't know where you keep finding these pics but good job man, I laughed out loud at this one.
  11. Although I want this to be his last game, I just have this feeling it won't be for some reason. A salute would be nice.
  12. Wow, if they trade Vanek they really should finish bottom 5 (I hope!). Please defer the pick, please defer the pick, please....
  13. Good job buddy, and thanks again!!
  14. As disappointed as #TankNation was on our meaningless win, we got some more out of town help with a Flames win last night. I'm not as concerned as Edmonton passing us as Calgary (although I would obviously rather neither).
  15. I'm not sure but I just picked up my gens knights tickets for feb 17, I get to watch zadorov for cheap and up close and continue to watch dal colle progress.
  16. Just an aside but I watched parts of their game last night (one of the first times I've seen an Oil game this year). Man their D is as advertised. Their transition game breaking out of their own end is not bad but there were 3 or 4 odd man rushes against in the 10 or 15 minutes I watched. Their D looked horrible. Also, Scrivens played lights out but he also got lucky. San Jose hit two crossbars and missed an open net in the little time that I watched. I was pleasantly shocked to wake up and see the Oils won. I didn't notice Yak the whole time.
  17. To be fair, it was reported he is looking for $6 mil per. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/29/report-callahan-seeking-seven-year-42m-deal-girardi-eyeing-33m-over-six/
  18. That's it, we certainly need leaders. We're going to be icing a young team over the next few years and I want a couple of solid vets who can really show these kids the way (similar to when it was rumored Buffalo offered Shane Doan a boat load of money). Also, although we are obviously hurting for scoring (something like record bad) if Miller is gonezo next season then we're going to have to step up our defensive game going forward as well.
