  1. Ignoring the bills for a second, from a sabres perspective, would tp buying the bills be a good thing, negative thing or neutral? Some positives include an nfl team bringing in huge revenues he could possibly redirect to the sabres. However money hasn't been an issue so far. Negative includes this taking his full attention away from the sabres organization.
  2. Bleacher report is what it is but it was a decent write up. I was surprised Carrier was not listed in the top 10. Then again I went through the list looking for who should be removed and I couldn't come up with one. The future is bright. ONE MORE TANK!
  3. I think if we can get Derek Roy points out of him while playing a polar opposite style game as Derek then we've got ourselves a great player.
  4. Ya I read this article yesterday and found it very interesting. The drawbacks of the khl already include shady owners and long flights. The political unrest right now will just add to the negativity in playing in that league.
  5. Here's a good write up on the guys expected to go top 10 in next years draft. http://www.hockeysfu...-class-of-2015/ McEichel are obviously the prizes but man I love the sound of some of these other kids. With 3 firsts and 2 seconds this upcoming draft will hopefully change this franchise for the next decade +. Thanks for the list Liger. Who knows how these kids will turn out for sure but Jordan Greenway ranked 14 has a very similar write up as Dal Colle who went 5th overall in this years draft (whom the Isles took). As many have stated, this is such a deep draft that I'm still glad the Isles kept the 5th pick. In my view, as long as the Isles pick is in the top 12 to 14, I still think that will be close to equivalent to number 5 in this past year.
  6. I wasn't referring to you Blue. Also, Tank is right on, this was before even the Halak signing that some said a number of rookie D in particular are going to have a huge impact on the team. Maybe, but I wouldn't want to rest my hopes on unproven rooks. Sorry for derailing the thread.
  7. Are you sure Shrader? Some are talking about throwing a bunch of rookies onto the Isles will make them into a playoff team.
  8. 800k must be near the league min. Wonder why he didn't get more if he is a legit top 6. I'm thinking he's either roc bound or the number 7 d.
  9. I agree with you on 61 but I think 55 has a decent shot with the big club.
  10. I think we're going to know a lot about this kid come February. Give him the majority of the year in ROC and if he plays above average then give him a shot up here. Based on what I saw he looked alright at the scrimmage but in no way was he dominant (from where I was sitting). I hear he played well in the 3 on 3 but that is almost to be expected. Give the kid space and he plays well, I need to see it come game time.
  11. I think it comes down to something similar as this past draft. If there is a decent drop off then I want the d, if the players are closely projected then pick the best forward.
  12. Yep. It's a deep draft, just not sure it's that deep haha.
  13. Beyond rediculous. He will be a top 10 pick come next June.
  14. Looks like I was mistaken as Bob Mac had Bennett ranked 5th at the start of last year although ISS had him ranked 9th and Draisaitl 10th. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/97007/iss-draft-rankings-top-2014-duo-holds-steady-but-plenty-of-movement-among-other-prospects/ However, I was right about Drouin as he doesn't show up in Bob's top 10 rankings in September 2012. http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=9600
  15. I wouldn't look too closely at the top 5 picks yet other than the two guys at the top. If we miss out on them there always seems like big risers and fallers throughout the year that will change the look of the top 5. Last year I don't think too many people had Bennett going in the top 5 of the draft and I think the year before it was Drouin that raced way up the board throughout the year.
  16. Ya I guess I'm likely one of the few on here that is having fun with the tank. I won't consider next season unwatchable at all. But then again I am very pro tank and want to see how we end up doing, along with the Isles and Blues. As others have said, I've got one more tank left in me and after this draft I'm done with it McEichel or not. At that point we should have some very good core pieces moving forward.
  17. Although mcdavid and eichel are the true prizes, this draft is suppose to be better than 2013 and there wasn't just mackinnon that year.
  18. Great weekend planned starting with my summer hockey teams banquet tonight (we won a $250 gift card for the restaurant and only 8 can make it). Tomorrow we're heading to a town about a half hour away (Cobourg) where Justin Williams is parading around the Stanley Cup and his Conn Smyth trophy. That'll be nice taking our little guy too. Then some darts with the boys tomorrow night and got my brother 5th row tickets to the Jays game Sunday for his bday. 5 o'clock can't come fast enough.... Congrats Weave.
  19. Keep the updates comin!
  20. Well he did get lit up on tues. Hope he's alright.
  21. Lanny - I think you're right, his name slipped my mind last night. He's no Rattie but very encouraged with Carrier's play though. X - Those were the two who stood out to me. I didn't know what to expect from either and thought both were two of the top 5 guys out there last night. I thought Carrier also handled the puck with speed. That play in I think the third where he pulled a toe drag and then rang it off the crossbar at full speed was unreal. SBF - I agree with you. I could see Risto making it. I think Reinhart, Carrier, Pysyk and McCabe will be given a real shot. I could see Grigo being a late season callup if he improves in the AHL.
  22. Hahahaha good points.
  23. I think at the end of the day Samson will be a great player, I just didn't see much from him in this meaningless one game. Not sure if you were at the game or not X but I watched him a bunch without the puck. You can see the smarts and he was almost always going to the right spots, I just didn't see much in the way of a defensive effort when there weren't two guys on him. There were a few plays where a blue player was racing down the wall and Sam looked like he was coasting, just assuming the D would make the play rather than giving him support. Am I nitpicking? Sure. But for a kid that's second overall without flash, I was just hoping to see more. The good thing is once he gets bigger, those issues can easily be corrected. I guess I'm just not ready to hand him a top line spot between Moulson and Gionta just yet.
  24. It was only one July scrimmage but reinhart did nothing last night that screams he's ready to play against men. He was very average during the game and a few camp invitees and late round picks looked better than the second overall pick on this night. I'm not overreacting as it's one event and training camp, exhibition games and likely a nine game tryout is where it will really count. Still, very disappointed in his effort last night. If he keeps it up I want him sent back rather than playing less than ten min a night and running into another grigo situation.
  25. I agree that I'm taking him a lot more serious now. Not sure what his upside is exactly but he has a great shot. I would think if all pans out right now I'd guess he has a shot as a second line winger.
