  1. Ya I'm pretty new at fantasy hockey so this could be a tough transition year. The stats seem overloaded with offensive categories (11 of the 14) so I suppose I should wait on a goalie similar to waiting on D in FF?
  2. I don't think he's arguing Grigorenko showed more than Larsson. He's arguing neither showed anything to warrant their play with the big club. I think I would agree with that idea. I didn't watch any Amerks games so not sure what he's done on the farm but he did not impress me at all when he got his shot with the Sabres. I thought he was easily pushed off the puck and just overall ineffective.
  3. Great, thanks. I assumed that it would be a daily thing so that works you can just set it up at the start of the week.
  4. Gionta. If he can captain an excellent storied franchise in Montreal then he can captain a transitioning/rebuilding Sabres squad riddled with young players.
  5. So this is my first year in the Blue League and have a few questions with the rules. Firstly, It says there are 2 N/A spots. What is that? 2 more additional bench spots on top of the 5? Also, is the objective to pull guys in and out of your lineup on a daily basis depending on when they actually play or just set your lineup once for the week?
  6. The Sabres training camp release has him listed at 238. H's listed as an inch taller than Risto but 33 pounds heavier. That seems like a high playing weight. Especially someone who has to work on his skating. I just would not think the Sabres would give him an offseason plan where he comes to camp at 238. I'm not positive what Zad was playing at last season but I thought I read in another thread Liger say he had gained weight over the summer. Sure it could be muscle but it hasn't looked that way in the limited times I've seen him this year / what I've read. Edit - it looks like he was playing around 220 to 225. That extra 15 pounds sounds like a lot from an already big dude.
  7. The thing I am most looking forward to this year is watching Risto. He looked the best at development camp (and it wasn't even close) and I've heard good things regarding his play at the most recent tourney. A kid at his age with his size, if he can get the drive to be the best he can be then he'lll end up a monster. I see a bunch of potential with Zadorov as well. I may be off on this but the main difference between those two right now may be attitude and work ethic. Risto lost a bunch of weight and Zads gained. Was the offseason program for Zads really to gain weight?
  8. @Heimdall - I personally feel Reinhart should be sent back this season but I put him there in my projections based on TM saying he has already dominated that league and basically has nothing left to learn.
  9. So I'm playing the Bucs D who have given up 50+ points but a cheap late td and someone they are now at 11 points. That's how this year has gone so far.....
  10. Our forward lines look like potentially: Moulson - Ennis - Gionta Hodgson - Girgensons - Stafford Foligno - Reinhart - Stewart Deslaurier - McCormic - Kaleta I see very few goal scorers and a weak left side. Even on D we have Georges - Myers Meszaros - Risto Weber/Benoit - Pysyk Considering we had the Hoff last year the D doesn't look much better either. As you said, our goaltending is a considerable downgrade from where we were last year. Could be a long season.....
  11. I don't know our forwards will even be that much better.
  12. Very nice how I pick up Douglas in case Roddy is out and then don't put him in last minute. Already a td...... I started cheering for the Bucs back around their superbowl years because I needed a second team to cheer for based on the way the Bills played so they became my 1B team I could cheer for out in the NFC. Well between the Sabres, Bills and Bucs (sure throw in Jays too) my sports cheering existence has been a nightmare. Seriously, I was born in 85 and started watching the Sabres close in 90 and the Bills in (get this) 99 and Bucs in 02. I've had literally three nice Sabres seasons to cheer for and that's about it :wallbash:   That may be why I'm all in for the Sabres tank this year.
  13. @ubkev - I forgot how funny tosh.0 is. I had that episode and another on the pvr and sat down and watched it with the wife. We were both in tears by the end.
  14. One more year of the tank left boys and girls.... For those unsure if this year will be any more entertaining than last - atleast this year we can also follow NY Isles and Blues and hope for losses.
  15. I love Pysyk. One of those guys that always seems to make the right pass and is great at breaking the puck out of our own end. He also makes good decisions in the offensive end in regards to passing and pinching. I don't think he'll ever score many goals or throw big hits but he is a quietly good player. You never hear about him which is great for D-men. Based on our great depth with young D I think he will eventually slot in as an excellent number 4 or 5 guy as someone has mentioned above.
  16. @dudacek - Based on all of the reports I've read and what I've heard on the radio from guys like Paul Hamilton I think your analysis is spot on.
  17. Ya I assume I may get 1 or two but I still likely won't get many.
  18. Well I've got my 4 waiver wire claims in for this week. After two straight tire fires it's time to blow this thing up!
  19. @PA - Oh there are times when players just aren't playing hard enough or playing lazy. See Exhibit A - Ovechkin, Alexander
  20. Get your Kleenex's ready. Even with the week the Bills have had, things this good just don't happen to Buffalo sports.
  21. Do I cut Romo loose before he sabotages my entire season?
  22. I think the writing is on the wall that they are sending Zadorov back this year (baring an amazing camp) based on their offseason signings. I just pray he treats it as an opportunity to work on some of his deficiencies and doesn't pout. I think he will be a monster for us in the future but it won't be this season.
  23. A future Sabre that can't finish? Sounds like he'll fit right in :flirt: That's not the news I want to hear about Zads (especially when that's what it seemed like to me during the prospect camp)
  24. It's obviously just three glorified scrimmages but I must say I'm very surprised by the scores.
