  1. Thanks Liger that was a great read.
  2. Kid can sure play but I'm already starting to lose hope the Isles pick will be in the top 10 which would be needed to get him (unless we package to trade up of course).
  3. I thought for sure we would take the Dman Ryan Pilon.
  4. Thanks for that. The top 3 rankings seem pretty unanimous across most rankings. But the 4-12 range sees guys all over the place. I've seen some that have Brazal in the top 5 or 6 and here is ranked 10th. Likewise I've seen Konecny out of the top 10 and they have him at 5. It'll be interesting to see how this list changes through the year. I haven't given up hope that the Sabres will pick in the top 2 but there is probably a better chance they pick 3 - 8 so it will be interesting seeing where those guys slot.
  5. I hear ya 11. I'm saying to trade away some of our prospects for NHL ready guys at the end of the season. In a deep draft I still want us to use most of our 2015 picks unless we can package some to move up in the draft.
  6. Looks like Nikita will be a scratch.
  7. My God the Panthers lineup doesn't look as bad as I thought: Projected Lineup 36 Jussi Jokinen – 16 Aleksander Barkov – 12 Jimmy Hayes 11 Jonathan Huberdeau – 27 Nick Bjugstad – 19 Scottie Upshall 20 Sean Bergenheim – 63 Dave Bolland – 14 Tomas Fleischmann 82 Tomas Kopecky – 17 Derek MacKenzie – 24 Brad Boyes x: 22 Shawn Thornton, 73 Brandon Pirri 51 Brian Campbell – 5 Aaron Ekblad 33 Willie Mitchell – 7 Dmitry Kulikov 4 Dylan Olsen – 44 Erik Gudbranson x: 47 Colby Robak 1 Roberto Luongo 35 Al Montoya
  8. I'm guessing they are scratchin Stratchen but not sure. Ok I know that was sad. Edit - After some online digging that appears to be the case.
  9. Nice, they're keeping up Boychuk too. He's impressed me in the two games I've seen him.
  10. Mesarzos back? Nice.
  11. That is fair. It is suppose to be a deep draft. I would be more then happy trying to move some of our huge stable of second rounders from years past if there is a market (which I'm sure there is for most of the 2013 class).
  12. Ya this is true. He's never going to be overly physical and doesn't have a booming shot but that own zone breakout pass is one of the best on the team IMO.
  13. Yep. I think if the Isles keep winning and it is obvious they will make the playoffs that (and the Blues) picks could be in play for a good young player either in the NHL or a year away. TM has said he would like to do this in interviews last year but never really got the chance. I could see another push being made later this year or at the draft.
  14. Ya I love Pysyk as well. If our D develops like all of us hope, he is going to be a very good 4/5 Dman for a long time.
  15. I'm looking forward to watching Ekblad vs Reinhart.
  16. ###### me. There better be some other intriguing pieces.

    Zadorov?

I commented in the Training Camp Thread a month ago that Zadorov was listed at 238 based on the training camp news release. That seems like far to heavy of a weight for him unless he gained a ton of muscle. Looks like he may have been just slacking off this summer and although the Sabres seem to want him with the big club (alteast for now) they still have to get him in game shape. He's still a young kid but if this is the reason he isn't being played then I'm starting to get concerned.
  18. I know this should go in the draft thread but I've heard Hanifin is being hyped as a better prospect then Seth Jones. I think we need to take BPA and find a trade partner to take on one of our D if we end up picking third. I'm very curious to see how Zacha does this year. He's had a slow start in comparison to several of the other elite prospects but as you said, it may be because of the transition to NA.
  19. John Scott may not be on the blue and gold anymore but he's still trying to help the sabres out. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/16/video-scott-forces-grabovski-from-game-with-heavy-hit/
  20. Or TM won't let them steal Beno and Mez spots and ruin the tank
  21. De Haan has put up some serious points in the past. I'm just hoping he hurts them in the D zone. We will see, I hate their promising start.
  22. That very well may be. De Haan was a 1st round pick although I was surprised he went as high as he did as I attended a lot of Generals games in his draft year. Carkner is a boarderline AHL player though.
  23. De Hann was a -7 last year and Carkner was a -10 (2 of 3 worst Isles Dmen in terms of +/-). Visnovsky is a good player though.
  24. It's either Mantha or Nyquist for me. As someone else said Larkin is just more of what we already have. It's obvious that some don't feel Myers is worth a teams top prospect, which is valid. I think the potential is still there and he has looked like a different player since Nolan came to town. Why trade Myers if we're moving past a teams top 2 options? Detroit may not have much LW or RW depth behind those top guys but they also don't have a potential top pairing Dman either.
