  1. I believe they are at 51 right now (I thought 50 was max). However some names of guys contracts that are up after this year include: Jerry D'Amigo, Zac Dalpe, Matt Ellis, Jordan Samuels-Thomas,Tim Scheller Kevn Sudher, Phi Varone, Drew Bagnall, Jerome Gauthier, Tyson Strachan, Matt Hackett and Nathan Lieuwen. Not to mention a few NHL guys who won't be back such as Mez and Beno. That will free up a decent number of contracts. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=91113
  2. Surprised they have Marner all the way down at 7.
  3. Sabres (non-CHL) NHL record after 44 games 2014 - 13-26-5 31 points (-48 goal differential) 2015 - 14-27-3 31 points (-72 goal differential) We tankin as hard as last year.
  4. Hmmmm, that's right he did start slow. Maybe it was something to the effect of him being on a better than Kane pace over x number of games. I really wish I remember where I read it. Anyways, I will have to start watching a bit more of London in the second half.
  5. Wow did not realize he fell that far off pace. He would still be a very good fit for Reinhart if that's how it plays out.
  6. Ya for me I think it's Marner at 3 as well (assuming he continues this torrid pace). I don't have the stats in front of me but I thought someone mentioned before that Marner is on a higher points per game pace then Kane had in juniors. I'm really hoping for McEichel but he would be a pretty good consolation prize. Marner and Reinhart would be 2/3 of a fun top line to watch. Strome and Hannifan are very close for 4/5 IMO.
  7. Murray was ready to ship him out since day 1? I've never once to this day heard Murray say he's looking to move tyler Myers.
  8. A gr internal error said Myers was traded to the flyers??
  9. Yep completely agree with that assessment sick. Darcy started tearing this thing down before Tim arrived and he has until June to finish this out. He still has a ton of work ahead of him. I'm liking that he's already looking to the future by making that trade with LA at last years deadline. At the time I think many of us questioned why we gave up two 2nd for a guy picked in what the fifth round of the prior years draft. Fasching looks like he may be a player though. We need Tim to be very active over the next two years.
  10. Great article, thanks for posting.
  11. There have been a couple of ppl willing to accept the suckitude the rest of the way now that the season is over half over. Please god let us win the shart and then never speak of this year again haha.
  12. Hahhahaha, not that bad Ink :w00t:
  13. Ya it probably is time for an upgrade.
  14. Sorry still not any better.
  15. Huge CHL game and this is the day we got our kid tickets for Mickey's Music Festival. Awesome
  16. Zadorov begs to differ..... Edit. Or was it Girgs?
  17. So is Lieuwen called up or seriously injured?
  18. I know. The T.O. trajectory is mighy scary right now. I don't want them to have a shot at McDavid but its looking like they will.
  19. Haven't we taken enough high (1st/2nd round) draft picks from the Wild already :P
  20. It was nice seeing Strome play at over a point per game pace for a long sample size without McDavid in the lineup.
  21. Or we can trade him and not bring him back. Enroth has had a very nice year all things considered but do we really feel he is the long term answer? Especially considering Murray's desire for a tall goaltender? He's clearly our best option now but if we trade him it doesn't mean there won't be options in the summer. As we know, Cap Geek is down so it's tougher getting an up to date UFA list but based on an article in October, here are a few goalies who have just as much potential as Enroth in my position who will be hitting the market: Viktor Fasth (don't judge him playing in front of that horrendous Oil D), Josh Harding (severe questions about his health so he may not be an option but was great when he played last year), Kari Ramo (I know is having a little bit of a down year) and Antti Neimi (I don't believe he's resigned as of yet). Not to mention any potential trade opportunities we have with our deep prospect pool. I don't think Enroth has shown enough yet to be a proven number 1 so there may not be a ton of suitors. At the same time if a deal is there I hope they take it.
  22. If Marner continues to score at this clip the rest of the way I don't know how he won't end up being the 3rd overall selection unless Hannifan really steps it up. I'm sure the vast majority of us would prefer a forward with our first pick so I don't love Craig Button's rankings. After McEichel, Marner and Strome there are a whole pile of Dmen. At this point it looks like we will be picking in the top 4 but you never know.
  23. At this point I'd go Marner as well but there is much hockey yet to be played.
  24. I'm not sure 6'4 is average size in the NHL. I also think the key is he actually uses his size. When Myers came out I remember us being so happy that the Sabres finally had someone with size but it was said multiple times one of his knocks is he doesn't play overly physical for that size. I'm sure Crouse won't be as bullish his rookie year as he is in juniors but I think some guys either have the ability/instinct to play physical or they don't. He has it and looks like a guy that would be a huge asset come playoff time. Not to mention his speed which I think is incredible for his size. Once again, please don't anyone confuse this with me wanting him with a top 5 pick.
  25. Fair enough, I just thought the Deslaruiers comparison was a little far. It will be an interesting few months for these draft eligible players. Especially looking forward to seeing what some of these guys can do in the playoffs.
