Kyle Dubas not returning as Toronto Maple Leafs GM
Derrico replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The leafs scored 2 goals or less in something like 7 straight playoff games. It was their scoring that let them down when the checking got tight. -
Levi and Quinn (and now Krebs) make Team Canada for IIHF 2023.

Agreed. But if Levi doesn’t give them the best shot at winning Adam’s better be serious about upgrading our goaltending. If he gives Canada less of a shot to win then the Montreal Canadiens 1a/1b who just came off a season giving up 3.42 GAA then that’s not good of we’re relying on him for next year. It’s a May tourney so whatever. But I think it’s significant if Levi loses the job to Montembeault come elimination games. I’ve been banging hard on the drums how this team better not punt a season because they don’t address goaltending again. I have all the hope in the world for Levi down the road but I’m still concerned we’re relying too much on a 21 year old kid in 23/24. -

That’s all you need. -
Also just bought this year and also been dreaming of this since I was 10. We will have to meet up and grab a beer some intermission.

Right?! Trade goes down and my initial reaction is all we got is a late first and some guy drafted in the 7th round very recently? All that suffering during the horrendous 2013-14 season and all we have to show for it was a few years of watching a good (but not superstar) player and a late first and 7th rounder? Add Kulich slipping in the first as the other piece and looking like it’s going to set up a couple of possible cornerstones for several years. Early returns are WAY above expectation compared to my initial reaction. Another note that Jack trade is also looking pretty good as Tuch looks like a top line player for years to come considering his age and love for the city.

GDT: Sabres @ Rangers - April 10, 2023, 7pm, MSG 📺 WGR 📻

Congrats man!! -
Feels like I’ve just been hitting the like and agree buttons for your post lately but this is exactly the way I see it as well. Varlamov would be a perfect 1A 1B guy too pair with Levi. This team is ready to fly. Just need the goaltending. I love Levi but man he’s young. This would be a perfect fit being a capable vet that can hopefully guide Levi and play 30+ games.

It shouldn’t be complicated. Matt Savoie should be a Buffalo Sabre next season.

Does anybody know a good real estate agent in Buffalo?

Found my answer. Thanks guys. -
Unbelievable run

Or, and again I haven't looked into specific names yet, is there someone out there with a big cap hit that may be playing a 1a 1b situation with good experience? I think our cap should be fine for the next couple of years until more of these big raises to the kids continue to kick in. Could we trade for someone we're describing who may be better option? If the goalie has a decent cap hit we may be able to get for cheap. Thinking like what they tried to do with Matt Murray.

Fair points and I agree with you on UPL. I think based on age he can still get better and would love to find him a bunch of games in Roch if Levi ends up winning the job in Buff. I know the Sabres rolled two young guys in Miller and Biron in our last hay day but I would prefer for our rookie to have someone more experienced to interact with every day and in practises. If Sabres feel Levi has a reasonable chance to be the NHL starter next year then they should be making moves to support that. Imo that means bringing in a decent vet backup and run those two.

If Adam’s is all in on Levi, and he’s purposely left an opportunity open for him to be buffalos starter sooner than later, I think the Sabres might be better served to bring in a capable vet. Sabres either develop Levi in Roch or Buff. If he’s good enough to learn on the job from Day 1 next season then I think I would rather a vet Levi can lean on. Didn’t Levi say something after signing about how excited he was to get to work with Anderson because of all his experience? I haven’t looked at goalie names who may be available but someone with a little more left in the tank than Anderson but has lots of experience and can play 30 games would be ideal imo.

Agreed. But what to do with Comrie and UPL? I’m fine sending Comrie down and if he gets claimed he gets claimed but does UPL have any eligibility left to be sent down?

We put our down payment on season tickets for next year and are looking to buy a small ‘cheap’ condo either walking distance to keybank centre or more likely somewhere a bit further but near the metro rail line. As a Canadian I would definitely like the experience of an agent who knows the Buffalo market and help guide us through the process. I could google to see who’s out there but prefer a recommendation based on someone they have experience with. Cheers!

Sounds like a Mark Pysyk?

That I do sir. I’ve finally found my way to a remote job with very flexible hours.

I’m with you brother. Well said.

All this talk of season ticket holders and it finally happened. My wife gave the ok and we put down a deposit on 4 tix in the 300s. Will likely end up giving away and selling some but very excited for seasons. Hope it’s not a huge waste of money and they really are turning the corner lol.

I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks. I see the Sabres offer half seasons now. Didn’t know that. Where have you been Randall?? Man I’ve missed ur posting.
