Very few are sure fire prospects, especially goalies. I have been encouraged by Lehner's season, however he is still relatively unproven and has a history of concussions. Ullmark has also shown some flashes but is also unproven. Having another guy with potential in the system would be very beneficial. I remember when the Sabres thought they were all set in goal having Mika Nornen, Biron and Miller in the system. Nornen and Biron were both picked in the first round, while Miller was a 5th rounder. I remember the organization being much higher on the former two then the later. My point is, yes this is not like losing Vesey, but I'm very hopeful he stays in the Sabres system. You can never have too many promising goaltending prospects.

I hate to say it but I agree with this. They may very well end up playing Ottawa in the first round. Not a cakewalk but Ottawa has a ton of injuries on the back end and look very vulnerable. Then it's Montreal who have problems of their own. Easy division means It would not surprise me if the leafs have an ok shot at the Conference finals.

Players obviously have a huge part in it. But how do you explain the PP being #1 in the league and our even strength scoring being so low?? Also, we had basically the same players last year and were 12th in the league. The Sabres have jumped up nearly 6% from last year.

Really? I didn't notice him in the first but I saw several plays I liked over the last 40 minutes. Kid has speed and seems to have some nice hockey sense. Obviously a limited sample size but I'm intrigued.

That whoever coach is Bob Woods. He's the one guy I hope sticks around when the coaching change happens (doubtful). I give him much of the credit for our #1 Powerplay.

The CHL started their playoff schedule last Friday. Guhle has 4 assists in 3 games. Have not watched but Kris Baker has commented "Guhle, as expected, in command the last two games vs Portland. Seems like he's out there every other shift. Creates quite a bit from the back end." His Prince George Cougars lead their series 2-1. Cliff Pu has 1 goal and 1 assist in 3 games for London. His Knights trail Windsor 2-1.

This doesn't surprise me. He was all about DD becoming the next head coach. I would love to find out if his opinion has changed. Disappointed I didn't get to meet him.
