I donno man, teams change from year to year. Nobody saw Toronto's turnaround last year. If you told me at the start of the season Ottawa would come *this* close to playing in the cup I would have called you crazy. Toronto was unbelievably lucky last season when it came to injuries. We lost our best player for 2 months and arguably next three best players for long stretches of time. Anything can happen; especially considering a whole new coaching staff and likely 50% turnover with our starting D.

Rasmus Asplund has 2 goals and 2 assists through the first 3 regular season games. From all accounts it sounds like he is playing at a very high level as the #2 Centre on the team. The SHL is a notoriously low scoring league so it has been a nice start for him. After this season he should be ready for the jump to NA. Cliff Pu picks up 2 assists in his first game back with London.

Oh come on now. If Reinhart turns into the centre most on here hope he can be then we have arguably a top 3 centre spine in the league. Throw in one of those young guys figuring it out before Christmas and the forward group will be fine. Christ, Eichel not missing two months of the season should be worth 20 goals right there.

Its alright, Pouliot won't be in the top 6 for long.

I know it's not a popular opinion but I have still never seen Reinhart at centre and been impressed outside of junior.

Sabres vs Leafs tonight at 730. Playing at the Ricoh Coliseum in T.O tonight. We know Cliff Pu is getting another look. Only a preseason game but always fun playing the divisional rival. Game is finally being shown on TV!!!!

@Aud - I'm not even sure he is a late bloomer; I think it was due to circumstance. He was traded to the Knights in his draft year and buried on the depth chart. That was the playoffs they had Tkachuk and Marner leading the team and playing huge minutes. When those guys moved on Cliff was given his chance last season when he put up the 86 points in 63 games. He was taken 16th overall by the Generals in the OHL priority draft. Let's hope he continues to progress this season.
