To each their own. How it impacts us negatively now in 2017, is pretty difficult to articulate.

The hawks were awful before they were good again. How do you think they got Towes and Kane? ???? You call the tank lazy yet cannot provide any other alternate strategy that we should have taken. Attendance never dropped and now we have Sam and Jack. Not sure why you think that.

How long is this expected to take? What happens if we do not have a GM in place by draft day? I wonder how this is affecting our scouting department? Mike Milbury (who I can't stand) said that our scouting dept is probably on "pins and needles" with uncertainty right now.

I'm not worried about Kim Pegula becoming the owner eventually. It's similar to a homeowner who can't fix anything to save their lives; hire someone for all contract work. Heck we may be better off and finally get our long term President of Hockey Operations.

If the LA Chargers were smart they would implement this as their new uniforms.

The point that I'm making is this; what other choice was there? The "race to eighth" and then not getting past the first round wasn't the goal either. And make no mistake about it, that is where we were, and that is what brought about the tank.

Eh, I'm an evangelical Christian and I compliment/ describe my friends who fit that description the same way. It doesn't mean I exclude or think less of my non believing friends. Problem is though he is an employer, he needs to be conciencous of how it can be interpreted.

The character thing (I gather it was reiterated lot) may be a cumulation of ROR and Kane arrests, but not neseccarily. If tpegs wants us to be more like Notre Dame fbs and less like a SEC team then fine. But I doubt he was talking about the players. Maybe he thought there was some shady stuff going on behind his back. That strengthens the theory of the Eichel story being leaked for leverage. Agreed, there is a lot of that on here.

Question, did anyone ask about if tpegs will hire a POHO/ hockey czar? Missed the press conference.

The concern is certainly understandable, however I view the events of yesterday as a change of course in the positive direction. Perhaps this has all been a learning curve for the Pegula's? They bought a bubble team that couldn't make it past the first round. Hired a decent GM and wisely tanked. Now hopefully they realize they need a hockey czar. We are literally one hiring away from any fears about tpegs being a moron put to rest. He's rich, will always spend to the cap and most importantly, will always keep the Sabres in buffalo. It's not like we're the Dallas cowboys of hockey, geesh.

I like it. I'd rather Ruff be the HC but I like it. We do obviously need a President of hockey operations so it is a good fit.

The tank was indeed a success, I'm surprised it is even being questioned. I think this line of thinking comes from the impatience that a six year playoff drought brings about. Miller, Vanek, Pominville and the boys weren't going anywhere in the playoffs. In 2011 Philly manhandled us (we were lucky to push it to 7 games) and literally camped out in front of our net the entire series during that one-and-done first round knockout. And the year before that, even though we were division champions, Boston knocked us out of the first round. We haven't been deep in the playoffs since 06-07. I don't see what alternative there was other than tanking; putting band aids on our problems via free agency every year?

Forgive me if I'm wrong (I'm a Giants fan and don't know anything about the Bills) but doesn't Russ Brandon only preside over the business aspect of the Sabres? As in ticket sales etc..

Not really sure why so many people are either unsure of, or don't like Lehner as a #1. His save % of (.920) was phenomenal considering how many shots allowed we averaged (34.3).

Unlike our new HC opening, I really have no opinion on this. All I've ever known was Darcy before TM. Really was hoping that TM was going to be some type of creative hockey genius of a GM but looks like that was just wishful thinking.

I'm not a GM but my hope is that once the front office is re-established we strengthen our defense, improve our pk, dump some dead weight and above all else don't get rid of Sam. This talk about getting rid of Sam really irks me. I'm sure our defense can be improved without trading an essential piece of our new core.

Wow! Pegula just went nuclear. Ecstatic about DB but surprised TM was let go, hmm. Either way cant get much worse than this season with the talent we have. Lots of moves in sabreland this summer.
