  1. Oooh yes I like that trade a lot. Very good idea he's a true two way defenseman who plays top minutes and very young. Yes please.
  2. Not lame at all. I live just outside of the capital region/ Adirondack foothills in ny which was also whalers tv broadcast territory. I didn't get into hockey until my 20s though (Miller era). I also cant stand rags and bruins. This has now been Sabres tv territory since Hartford folded. Watch as much hockey as you can, also playing NHL 17 as you mentioned will help you with knowing the penalties, how offside works etc. Honestly just get NHL Network if you can and watch as much as possible. Best sport on earth.
  3. We have a log jam at center and Montreal doesn't like his two way game. He'd have to play LW here, not sure if he'd want that as a natural center. Also not sure if we'd want Kane to go to our own division champions. But yeah Galchenyuck is a heck of a good player, young too.
  4. That article is just.. wow where do I begin? Calling Sam a dissapointmemt is ignorant, particularly for a professional in the media. I haven't heard anyone on this board go that far and were fans. Calling Sam arrogant? I wouldn't blame Sam or Jack at this point if they never spoke to him again, not out of spite but simply self preservation.
  5. I agree that a trade is the fastest way but not nesecarrily the only way. There will be some (admittedly not alot) UFA dmen this summer. Even if we have to trade we don't have to trade Sam. Much rather see Kane go seeing that he hasn't led anyone to believe he wants to be here long term.
  6. Is there a reason why we can't have both? We're already dumping some dead weight this off season, calling up a few players hopefully and getting a new GM and HC. Getting rid of Sam is almost as silly as getting rid of Jack imo. There are other ways to improve our blue line.
  7. Two seasons and he has 40 goals/ 90 points so far in his career. Hes a natural center playing as a winger. Sam is the real deal.
  8. I've heard Columbus assistant GM Bill Zito's name has been mentioned.
  9. I always loved Vanek's net presence; he was the king of garbage goals.
  10. I'm hoping we have our pick of dman, all of the mock drafts that I have seen lately have Lijegren as #1 D.
  11. I just saw Rogue One for the first time last night (rented it on direc tv) and it was absolutely phenomenal. Kicking myself that I waited so long to see it. Was hesitant about these new spin offs but not anymore.
  12. Also I'd like to see Jack make the move to #1 center, Sam #2 center, and ROR on wing. It's bound to happen eventually.
  13. Shattenkirk is going to be a bidding war, I like Stone from Arizona for RHD. Alzner will be looking for a payday, maybe Washington won't be able to extend him with their cap?
  14. Exactly. Also let us not forget that he is a natural center, playing on a team with Eichel and ROR. Unbelievable how expendable some people seem to think he is. Yes precisely. When he becomes our #2 center someday and ROR goes to wing Sam's numbers will be even better.
  15. 1st pick yeah sure, Sam absolutely not. Dmen take a while to develop so trading away our first pick (Liljegren)/ Makar/ Heiskanen/ Valimaki) for an already established top 4 dman and another prospect would be fine. Why are so many people talking about trading Sam? It's not as if there is no other way to acquire a dman? Are there no top dmen that are going to be UFA this year?
  16. And he'd help our pk a lot. NJ was playing him a lot on their kill before he fled to russia. 30 goals plus, smother forwards on our pk, and come up with some shorties. Hes an amazing player, still cant trust him to honor an NHL contract.
  17. He will want a 20 year contract at 12m a year, front loaded. ????
  18. Absolutely not; nasty goal scorer but can't trust him to honor his contract. Besides I don't see how he'd fit in cap wise past the short term.
  19. I don't think we'll ever see Kovie in the NHL again. He's a flight risk lol.
  20. It's not that Nashville is that good (though they are very good of course) it's that Rinne is. Chicago couldn't score against him 5v5. Only one goal at even strength in four games.
  21. Nah, the kids are alright ????The semi-final against Sweden went into overtime but other then that they were dominant throughout the tournament. Team USA in general is looking really, really good. I'm still bummed about the Olympics next year though.
  22. Yes exactly. And 14 consecutive gold medals in seven of last nine years. Another solid development to point out is expansion; though I don't like it for certain reasons Austin Matthews is a direct result of an NHL team in Arizona. Still hoping P Kane will join the men's team this year.
  23. Going to be some people in Binghamton that will like that series for sure.
  24. Round 2 schedule https://www.nhl.com/app/news/nhl-playoffs-round-2-schedule/c-280468316
  25. Bruins and Leafs getting eliminated both on home ice, back to back. Yeah good stuff for sure.
