Assault requires mens rea, not a strict liability crime (like manslaughter for example). A penalty yes, game misconduct is a stretch. Assault no.

I don't think the lotteries are fixed (pretty sure that would be very illegal) I think we have bad "luck" so to speak. I do however think that we never get the calls other teams do on the ice.

I don't know man, I don't have stats to back it up but going from memory the top 5 picks or so are usually forwards. In 2013 Risto fell to us at #8, and that was a year with Seth Jones and Darnell Nurse. #8 should historically land you the best, if not second projected best dman in most draft classes I'm pretty sure.

I don't like Bettman, and I honestly believe the league favors original six and big market teams (via on ice officiating). In 2002 however, Bettman protected the Sabres when we needed the league the most. Bettman doesn't hate or dislike Buffalo.
