I see your point but TM made some good moves with our picks. Did he over pay for Lehner? Most likely. Other. Than that my only beef about him was DB. Our fan base hasn't seen a playoff series win in 10 years, a playoff appearance in 6. Time to put some sugar in our coffee.
-
It took him so long to reach the NHL because LA is a tough lineup to crack for a dman. He played very well in his own end last season, is 6'4" and I think hes a gem. I think hed be a solid stay at home lhd for us. https://realsport101.com/news/sports/nhl/derek-forbort-the-kings-rising-star

I didn't get any feedback on the defensemen thread about this yet but I'm really big on Derek Forbort from LA. I'd trade our #8 for him, I'd even sweeten the pot with a later round pick or prospect too.
-
The concept that we can't improve our blue line without trading (gasp) Samson or Kane. Bananas, B A N A N A S bananas. If we can't extend Kane then yeah, don't let him walk next year for nothing. But extend him if possible. And don't even talk about trading Sam.

How is that idiotic? It makes sense. We gave up the most sog in the league last season. Our d was awful. We need to fix it. Pretty simple really.
-
Looks very solid. Personally, the only defensemen I want to keep are obviously Risto and McCabe. Maybe, maybe Bogo. So yeah I like this lineup for sure.
-
No thanks, DR over valued our prospects, never wanted to make a bold move, and was very stagnant imo.
-
Pitt is going to be just fine without Crosby, still say they're the cup favorite. Wow goal by McDavid. Edmonton looks loud!
-
Slight momentary topic change, but does anyone know if Kane's agent has stated whether or not they are open to discussing a contract extension come July? I only bring it up in this thread because it is central to how we approach much of this, imo.

Our #8 to LA for Derek Forbort. Former 2010 first round lhd dman. Has been having a hard time cracking LA lineup since being drafted due to their depth. Played well in LA last year, played a full season. Big boy, 6'4", 25 yo. Same birthday as me, but eleven years younger haha. LA would make that trade in a heartbeat, and we improve our blue line now.

Internet gold right there.

That was a sweet pass.

Rags burrying sens right now.
-
Wouldn't surprise me, I still think they're the favorites even without him.

DLC and online only console games. Sony and Microsoft are becoming like PC gaming, not a good direction for console gaming imo.

One important question to ask is that if Crosby was Niskanen in that play, does he get a game misconduct? I theorize that he wouldn't. I hope he's okay, but I've seen Crosby do worse.

Trade Sam or the 1st pick for Elusive Stud Defenceman?
I-90 W replied to Sabre fan's topic in The Aud Club
It's spelled defense, defence is for the motorists on 90 That endanger everyone. ???? -
Thanks for the insight; I didn't know that Mario didn't get respect til well into his career because of the tank (I was born in 81) but that is fascinating. I don't know if Jack doesn't get the respect he deserves because of the tank. Matthews and Laine play a part in it also. Jack was hyped up a lot in his rookie season and it fell off a bit this season. Media coverage at least. Next season he's going to sky rocket I think into a full season ppg player.

My guess would be same reason that the hard salary cap exists, parity. The NHL is always trying to lure in new fans and for whatever reason that's the direction the league seems to think is effective.
-
Wow what a shot! This years covented dman himself.

You gotta be freaking kidding me.

Injuries are never to be celebrated but yeah, indifferent is the exact way how I feel about it too. Unless of course it's physically serious.
-
And I'm the one wearing the tinfoil hat? Not only did they tank, that was THE tank that started it all. How can you complain about the Sabres tank and say that Pitt didn't invent it in 83-84. I even saw a special on it on NHL Network with former members of the organization talking about it. They wouldn't admit it, but they were coy about it. It's NHL history it's not even debatable.
-
It's vague but attacking player not allowing goalie to play his position.

How is that not goaltender interference? Bush league.
