  1. Okay nice. I typically go late March if possible to reduce chances of bad road conditions. I drop about $600 between three seats and a night at harborcenter so I always try to schedule it towards the end of winter because I travel 4 1/2 hours.
  2. Any chance the march/ April one could be on a Saturday? I travel to buffalo once a year, always on a Saturday. I sit with my kids so I wouldn't be sitting with the group but it'd be nice to meet everyone during an intermission.
  3. In all seriousness, wonder what the hold up is? GMJB seems to be as good as done wonder how much longer it's official, like Facebook official lol.
  4. If we keep the pick yes I definitely would take him. We should draft d not best player available. In earlier mock drafts last year he was #2 overall and backslid due to mono or something if memory serves me.I actually like him more than Makar because of size. And yes I know Makar is a puck moving dman, they flourish in the league now etc I still like Heiskanen/ Liljegren/ Makar as my order.
  5. Depth on defense. Took an injury for him to even crack the lineup.
  6. Oh yes it will, just not an established top 4 dman. It would land a Derek Forbort.
  7. Agreed, and I have been saying that all along (except I am pro-trade the pick). The #8 pick alone will not get it done, I say #8 and Austin or #8 and a later round pick will.
  8. I think this board is going to have a fit when the new GM trades our #8 for a dman, lol. Pretty sure it's going to happen too.
  9. I always bet $10 every race, bet the odds for show. Almost always break even or get $20 - $100, which usually covers snacks etc haha. If you're ever in town let me know, I'll buy you a beer at Kings Tavern across from the track. Love the races it's in our blood in Saratoga!
  10. Being from Saratoga, I definitely am enjoying this thread lol.
  11. My trifecta: Eichel Tower, itsmillertime, Samsons Strength
  12. I couldn't agree more, well said.
  13. 1) NHL players in the Olympics. 2) Conference format for All Star game. 3) Previous playoff seeding of top eight in both conferences.
  14. Playoffs, first round elimination.
  15. Anyone else notice team Canada has ROR at rw.. lol. Now if only the Sabres can do the same!
  16. Dmen take longer to develop, you know this. Our forwards, Jack, Sam, Kane etc, will not want to stay here long term when our d is getting shelled every game. We may already lose Kane to UFA next year. Sam and Jack don't have as much freedom obviously but they will eventually. Our blue line needs fixing, now.
  17. But Heiskanen isn't going to drop to 8. Whoever we get will probably be cutting their teeth in the NHL in 2019/ 2020. Our forwards need to play on a decent team if we want to keep what we have.
  18. Eh, the legislative filibuster saved the right imo the last eight years. Though conventional wisdom is once the left has the opportunity, they're just going to do it themselves eventually. Because of that I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen. Mitch McConnel is a traditionalist, and sees the nuclear option as extreme. The counter argument though is that the left will do it as soon as they have enough congressional seats someday. Either way it's not good for America long term imo, and I'm very far right. It's only a matter of time til it happens though, and the GOP has a once in a lifetime opportunity and about a guarenteed two year window.
  19. I'm interested to see how it is modified when it goes through the Senate. Hopefully there will be better protections for pre-existing conditions. That is a line that the GOP has promised not to cross, and from what I understand, this bill in its current incarnation crosses that line. Honestly most on the right just want to control the premium increases and rising costs of deductibles. Obamacare helps a lot of people, but it also hurts a lot of people too. Has to be a better way.
  20. Thing about UFAs though is they have to want to come here, and we may have to pay a premium to land one.
  21. I understand that there are a lot of people that do not want to trade our #8 pick. Honestly though not only do I think we should, I think we will. If we extend Kane this summer, and I hope we do, it's definitely happening. I don't envision a new GM coming in, signing Antipin, shedding some dead weight, calling a few players up and calling it a day. Nor do I think we will land a UFA. That will be most of it, but I anticipate a significant trade for a young NHL ready dman before next season.
  22. Agreed and that wouldn't be the initial offer but I would go that far to get him is what I'm saying. His perceived value to us, given our circumstance, is worth it. It's a realistic proposition that our hypothetical trade partner would agree to.
  23. Much better from what we have seen. The sampling of Austin is 5 NHL games total. Forbort played an entire season for LA last year. Similar in size but that's it. Heck I'd trade #8 and Austin for Forbort. LA would take that trade. Thanks for the analysis. #8 and a later pick or prospect may be overpayment but it would be a solid move for our blue line for years to come. I really am big on Forbort.
  24. An excess rw will not get a Forbert trade done for the exact reason you mentioned, hence the need to trade our #8 for him. Mark my words, he's gonna be a solid dman for years. We should move on him.
  25. Thought my cat had fleas, $85 later found out it was allergies from spring time pollen. Oh well glad she doesn't have fleas at least.
