  1. You should consider joining a volunteer fire dept. Buffalo is paid obviously but if you're close enough to a suburb they'd take you. There's no pay but typically a losap which is a pension/ annuity.
  2. Hopefully he's scowling but being canvased soon to return to buffalo as our next HC! ☺☎❤
  3. Rags in a hole already.
  4. I know right. Honestly TM made some darn good moves, too bad he picked DB as his hill to die on. Other than that he was a good GM imo.
  5. By even approach I'm referring to not neglecting our defense. As far as aggressive GMs are concerned, I liked that about TM. Years of DR made me appreciate a new GM who is bold.
  6. If we can package our #8 into a trade for an NHL ready dman in his early twenties, I see no reason not to. The alternate is to draft at #8, and then slow cook in Rochester for two or three years. Trading it for a dman presses the fast forward button. Unless you're thinking BPA, which is an entire different scenario. In that case I don't see us significantly improving our blue line without trading an essential piece because it isn't happening in free agency.
  7. I'm surprised Schoefield is before my time but wasn't he a perennial all star?
  8. Jim Schoenfield and Phil Housley were exceptional. I expect Risto to be right there in that conversation of top Sabres defensemen all time when all is said and done.
  9. I expect a focus on drafting, the organization as a whole, and a more evened approach. Honestly though hard to gauge how aggressive he'll be having the actual keys to the kingdom so to speak.
  10. Welcome to Sabrespace. I just joined last year and I love it, really smart hockey fans on here.
  11. Haha thanks man. Yeah they're still little, 9 and 6. We normally sit center ice section 117/ 105 or as close as stubhub will get us. Three seats is an odd number so it just depends on what i can get my hands on. It would be awesome just seeing everyone in between periods ☺
  12. I would think that mathmaticly the most advantageous would be to sign him after his full three year ELC. As our franchise player though, we should extend him asap as a sign of good faith.
  13. Fully agree. Risto is an essential part of our core. He and ROR as A, Jack as C.
  14. Ah gotcha, that makes more sense. I honestly believe it will be at LEAST 7y/ AAV $8m. Probably more though.
  15. Admittedly this is a bit above my head but I believe it has something to do with an inflation clause in the cba. My comment was more directed to it goes up every year hence why contracts are getting bigger.
  16. I'll search for link but I remember reading $2.5m up to 75.5.
  17. When you're the Buffalo Sabres, no.
  18. Well played, shots fired lol. My bad I misunderstood.
  19. You guys do realize that the cap continues to raise right? Mark my words.. no less than 7 years at no less than $7.5m AAV.
  20. Absolutely, and as you pointed out he just needs the proper pairing partner.
  21. Yeah I hear ya man, I've read that he has a turnover problem but scouts are talking like he has a high ceiling. A year or two in Rochester might do wonders. He won't step into the NHL anyway needs to adjust to NA game.
  22. I just picked up Zelda Breath of the Wild; other than SC playoffs and WC tournament, I'm not going to be watching any tv or movies anytime soon lol.
  23. Yeah but that's because he's lazy lol.
  24. Of course it's going to be dictated by what the market is and what happens with other similar player's contracts, but I don't see any less than 7 years at at least $53m.
  25. Just off the top of my head I'm thinking ballpark of 7y/ 8m.
