Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if it was unanimous on this board that whatever it is that we would all individually offer, it won't be enough to sign him. Kane hitting free agency is basically inevitable, which is why he should be traded while return is high and without risk. I'd like to keep him, but I don't think we will get any type of discount whatsoever.

ROR should move to lw, not sure if it will happen though. E Rod won't crack the top six with Kane still here but if Kane is dealt he could though I doubt it. We're not too bad on the left side. Really want Vanek still though. Need to get rid of Moulson. On our left wing we could have ROR Kane Vanek Pouliot Girgs E Rod

We could have Samson center the second line, ROR at lw, E Rod at lw, and sign Vanek. And we just got Pouliot for lw.

Agreed. We should just bring in a backup for shootouts at this point. He's a solid nhl goalie but awful in that particular area. In fairness, the shootout shouldn't even be in the game but thats a whole other topic lol. ☺

I'm not worried. Pouliot and Pommers are short term, Gionta won't be resigned and Kane will probably be traded. I don't think Samson is going anywhere. Hopefully hes put at center.

If we sign Vanek, drop Moulson, put Poliot on the 4th line and get rid of Gorges that's a playoff roster.

Possibly gives us leverage for Lehner extension negotiation.

I hope we sign Vanek; he's still productive and great in the shootout. Also if we do trade Kane, look at our left side we need to fill it out. Vanek makes sense even without the nostalgia factor.

True, also have to admit a short term Vanek signing would help our left side a lot.

I still think it's possible though much more unlikely now after our Wild trade. JB even said more or less that we don't have to force anything in free agency now. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if we're still in the hunt for him.

Always Girgs too, if he plays better next season. Also whatever free agency and/or whatever return there is for Kane if we trade him. I liked what we saw from E Rod last season.

I've been watching TURN/ Washington's Spies lately and other than GOT, it's by far the best show on television imo.
