I'm a shop steward myself and it is very difficult to recognize the NHLPA as a certified union; yes they engage in collective bargaining etc but they represent individual agents that work for 31 different owners. All paid differently (within peramiters outlined in the cba) and no tier system.

I've never played professional hockey but I know that Miller did it and it seemed to light a fire under the teams butt when Lehner did it. If they're allowing a league worst sog why must the goalie suffer in silence? It impacts the goalie perceived value.

I'll never understand the dislike for Lehner. We've been so spoiled with awesome goalies in the past is the only explanation I can think of. He was shelled last year with shots and we couldn't get the puck out of our own zone. He's gonna look great this year with a much improved defense in front of him.

I'm interested in the Lehner arbitration the most. I'm pretty sure injury history is taken into consideration so it's going to be fascinating to see how it unfolds if it really does wind up being settled by the arbitrator.

I'm not sure Edmonton will extend Draisaitl 8 years now coming off the McDavid extension. He may only agree to a five year now and then walk as a ufa to make more elsewhere. I hope someone offer sheets him though, Edmonton deserves that.

I saw a youtube clip of the TSN crew making comments about Pouliot taking a lot of stupid penalties, is this a concern? I haven't heard this anywhere else though..

He's by far my favorite player but he can't base his contract off McDavid's. He should be content with 8x9 IF he extends now.

I can only imagine how awesome it was the seasons following up to it though, especially the year we won the President's trophy. I've been a Sabres fan for nine years and haven't seen us win a playoff series yet.

To be fair Moulson is a serviceable lw. His stat line last year was 14-18-32. His contract stinks though.

Half the league makes the playoffs every year. Better coaching, improved defense and less injuries we'll be in.

I'm very happy with JB so far. I was upset about the draft at first but others on this board have successfully showed me the importance of BPA. Our defense is virtually fixed imo, though we can't be certain til they start playing obviously. Still may be more moves to come. Love the Housley hiring and the Scandella/ Pominville grab was Darcy- level legendary. Only question is what to do with Kane. I hope we can extend him but if not hope we can get a decent return. I really like how he's focused on building two teams. I think things are finally coming around for us.
