We should try to piece together what a package would look like to Vegas for Fleury.

I might get a lot of flack for this but I was thinking some type of hockey trade for Sam. Not sure how it would work exactly for both teams but that's what would clear up the cap space on our end for Fleury.

I would like us to make a move for Marc-Andre Fleury. Don't know if we are on his 10 team list but it would make sense; with Lehner in Vegas now too they have a lot of cap space tied up in net. We're in a different conference and he has 3 years at 21m.

How about a goalie? I doubt we’re going to be able to pay him what he wants long term if Hall works out and wants to stay here. For Sam money I’d rather we try to make a trade with Vegas for Fleury and another forward or prospect.

Agreed that we should definitely get something of value for him. He’s a valuable player.

I agree he’s great with junk goals up front, it’s been nice seeing him grow into that through the years. We just can’t have a top six filled with guys who will allow our goalie to be screened. I get that we’re all attached to Sam but I’m a bit surprised at the pushback by some. I acknowledge that Sam is a good player, just not sure he fits going forward. Good point in him not being the desired player type possibly.

I don’t dislike Sam nor am I anti-Sam. I’m just as emotionally attached to him as anyone. But logically at some point shouldn’t we conclude that the same players who were with us during this awful stretch might just be part of the problem? If/when we make it to the playoffs we will need forwards who can clear the crease. I’m not into analytics as much as some on here (though I appreciate their work and insight) but this much I do know just from watching.

He’s 6-1 and 180lb which is fine (durable too) but my point is he’s a softer player. I’d like to see some power forwards on our team. Guys who can clear the crease; remember how much we got bullied by Philly in 2011? Granted that was before his time but in the playoffs we need forwards who can push people around.

Mine is Ryan Miller. Became a hockey fan in 07 and was really amazed at how he played in the net. 2010 was really exciting too as he was the best goalie in the world imo that year. That Olympics loss was crushing.

Watched the "Embedded" doc on Youtube a bit ago; Adams and staff repeatedly discussed amongst each other what a "Sabre is". They definitely have a preconceived notion of what our players are going to be like going forward. What that is exactly I'm not sure of yet. Seems like they have a vision though.

I don’t think he fits either, we’ll see what happens with arbitration. He’s a quality guy player and all but personally I’d like to see us get bigger and faster.

Reino is great with junk goals in front of the net, something I never would have guessed would happen back when we drafted him. Still, can’t help but to feel like he’s been part of all of these soft teams. Like everyone else though, I have a lot invested in him. It’s complicated.
