    I’m not panicking what we are seeing is rust IMO but the refusal or intimidation to clear bodies is a very real problem that skill will not over compensate for. The NHL is too physical a league for soft play.

    The biggest problem I see is what I’ve feared all along, that we don’t have any grit. We will not clean up the crease or push players out of the way. This results in so many GA. We can’t let opposing players screen our net minders have to be more physical.

    Yeah it’s a lot, like sensory overload a lot. Haven’t been looking forward to a reg season game as much as this in a long time.

    On the Instigators they made a point that really resonated with me though; when Phil Kessel came to Pitt first he was on the Crosby line, then Malkin, and finally settled into the third line because he was a scoring threat in his own right. That’s also a potential strategy, balanced lines.

    I know this is a divisive situation in Sabre land right now, and I understand both points. But I’m definitely on RKs side. Everyone needs to buy in to the system, and break free from bad habits. I like Skinner a lot but hope he will play the way the coach wants him to, otherwise not only will he be wasted but it will continue to be a locker room problem. Just my 2 cents.

    ^ We won’t play Tampa at all in the reg season because they’re in the Central division and we’re in the East. But while we’re on the subject, it would be nice to see Tage grow into his body and get a mean streak.
