Really disappointed with that press conference, the Buffalo sports media leaves much to be desired. They should have forced him to answer more pointed questions. A few things... 1 For a guy whose buzz words are honest conversations, he was quick to call an honest question a trap. 2 Wish someone would have asked how much control he truly has of the team (granted this would take some nerve and result in fallout). 3 Wish someone would have asked what type of trade assets he would want, should he wind up moving Jack.

The organ-eye- zation’s approach to this seems to be just to reiterate that Jack is a young emotional player that wants to win.

The press is pushing Granato into commenting about what Eichel said again. He’s saying that Jack just wants to play hockey, and he doesn’t have a concern. Now being pressed harder about three leaders in the team seemingly wanting out, responded with “we’re in an industry with lots of emotion” he’s basically downplaying the whole thing.

I agree with this. Remember on the Hall signing episode of Beyond the Blue TP was overheard telling KA that if we go for Hall we’re not just going for the playoffs, but the cup? This guy literally thought Staal and Hall would make us immediate cup contenders, it’s terrifying.

Personally I think a logical argument could be made that there is a locker room/ culture problem, and since Jack, Risto and possibly even Sam want out, this seems to be the opportune time to flush the club of the players who have been here during these horrible years. The bleeding has to stop, we have to turn the page. Not advocating for prospects or draft picks though, I’m talking established skilled players to add to our new core. Admittedly it seems self defeating to theorize that moving our top players is addition by subtraction, but if they don’t want to be here, the toxicity will continue and worse, will spread.

If our top line C develops into a PPG player it doesn’t matter to me if those points are mostly assists!

I heard someone on NHL Nerwork talk about it as fact so pretty sure it happened, they said it made Buffalo “give pause but they weren’t ready yet”. So it must have been quite the haul.

Anyone else going to root for them if they go to a contender and make it to the playoffs? Not me, I’ll be totally indifferent. Won’t wish them ill will but they’ll just ‘be somebody that I used to know’ 🎶.

This thread isn’t about whether or not Jack should have surgery, it’s specifically what should KA do if he has the ability to override the team's physician. If he can, should he to maximize Jack’s trade value is the question.

Grieving is a process and we’re all going through it. Though grieving isn’t the right word of course, these early takes are emotional on some level.

I want us to be rid of Jack now but I really like this take. Refreshing.
