  1. I get signing all these players to long term deals, but man, we have a lot of big contracts for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in forever.
  2. You should try to watch him more. He's dynamic. For his skill and age, he should be at the top of the list.
  3. I heard this last week but couldn't find anything on it.
  4. His enthusiasm for the games during our recent drought was amazing. I don't know how he did it. I could barely watch at times, he never changed. A true professional.
  5. Living in Arizona, with the time difference, I often listened to games while driving home from work. While his dynamic goal calls were legendary, sometimes we lose sight of the fact that he was a tremendous play by play announcer, in the most traditional of terms. To be able to listen on radio and understand exactly what was happening in the game is underappreciated until you are in my situation, where you depended on Rick to let you know exactly what was happening in the game. I always thought he was great, but my appreciation for him grew immensely because of that skill.
  6. And they might not. Have they ever been great yet at any point?
  7. That 3rd line looks pretty weak. 4th line nothing special either. Yikes, I hope I'm wrong.
  8. Then we can trade him for a first round pick.
  9. No, it's not on the coach or the ref(lol). It was stupid play at the worst moment. Watch the video. https://lancasteronline.com/sports/45-years-ago-the-flyers-won-their-2nd-straight-stanley-cup-video/article_12d1a260-9f79-11ea-abeb-0b8af01066c2.html Geez, just watched the Clement goal for the first time probably since 1975, Schoenfeld was even further out of position on that goal.
  10. The other 'Punch' said he should have traded him years before. Once he found god, he stopped fighting and being the tough guy that made him effective. Constantly out of position, lived off a reputation from his first couple years. It's great that he was nice to you and did stuff for his church, I was referring to his on ice performance, not his off ice. But you make part of my point of him being overrated, your first reaction is how nice a guy he is, which is why all the old ladies loved him back then. But that has nothing to do with hockey. And this is just one play, but when Kelley scored the cup winner in 1975, right off the faceoff, Schoenfeld is a center ice for some stupid reason and the front of our net is wide open , right where he should have been. Very typical of him. But people don't care, they love him anyway.
  11. While I hated Schoenfeld, the most overrated player in Sabres history, it's pretty funny that 2 of the 3 here lamenting his trade spelled his name incorrectly.
  12. Wouldn't have got close with Nolan instead of Ruff.
  13. and what's Eichel doing instead? Celebrating his name on the Cup.
  14. If we don't trade him before the season, he needs to get quality minutes and produce or else his trade value disappears. If he plays well, should we even trade him?
  15. Voters probably thought he played a big role in Boston winning 65 games.
  16. Sorry, I wasn't myself when I woke up this morning.
  17. I'm pretty confident in saying that if Levi puts up Skinner numbers, 50 games, 29 wins..., not only will Sabre fans expect ROY, but MVP consideration as well. Skinner had a tremendous season for a rookie goalie. No shame in Power finishing 3rd, and he got better every game he played as the season wore on.
  18. besides you, why aren't we talking more about him?
  19. Tuch seems like one of those players that would rise to the occasion. I hope we get a chance to see it. He has 33 points in 66 games with Vegas and he was 20 years old when they went to the finals, pretty young kid.
  20. Seems like a hockey market to me. They have a hockey team, they fill the arena, they support the team... The arena will be empty? Like that hockey market of Buffalo recently?
  21. You don't have to take Fentanyl if you don't want to. I doubt this is a big issue in players deciding wear to play.
  22. and how many players are concerned about the cost of rent, groceries, restaurants... we are giving multi-million dollar contracts to kids 20 years old. I would think a ranking based on players considerations would be more accurate.
  23. Whoever trades for Olofsson, put down $20 on them winning the cup next season.
