I'm not quite sure how to assess his play. The skill set is obvious and exciting, but the mistakes are often. Waits too long to react defensively, many bonehead passes in his zone, gets caught out of position a lot. I know he's only 18, still learning, but he's nowhere near the best player on the team. I'm not down on him in the least, and the encouraging part is that he is pretty effective despite the many mistakes.

How can someone who is not all that effective, not currently playing to expectations be a steal? He was set up to be our 2nd line center, a lot was expected out of him. And a #8 pick is expected to be a valuable player, how do you steal someone @ 8 unless they are a superstar? Again with Pilut, he made the team, sort of, he's been a healthy scratch because he hasn't been playing well in our own zone. Not a steal. I expect both of them to do well eventually, but just saying they aren't steals. That's all.

Pretty solid summary. My 2 minor criticisms- calling Pilut and Mittlestadt 'steals'. Pilut looks promising, but isn't there yet. Mittlestadt has been disappointing this season considering the fact that he was thought of as a ROY candidate. Not to say they both won't be good, but too early to tell, let alone consider them ' a steal'.

He's horrible. Actual made the brilliant statement about the Eichel line becoming our goto line. Sharp as a tack. ok Doc.

How do you know announcing games is a risk to his health? I started yelling for Ray to shut the hell up, he's the worst ever. Then realized he was doing the play by play.

Nobody knew about Hasek, that's why he was so easily acquired. Wasn't Mogilny playing with Lafontaine, not May? Yep, they did a good job announcing the game. Very balanced broadcast.

the most amazing thing about that season was how Lemieux came back from cancer during the season and ending up leading the league in scoring- going past Lafontaine. He only played in 60 games.

chances are the Blues tear it down after this season if they continue to stink. This year or next, we'll likely have a lottery pick.
