  1. Why? I think Boudreau is a pretty decent coach, but he has had his share of disappointments as a coach.
  2. Caught the 3rd period and OT of the Blues/Avs game last night. Exciting game, the arena was electric in St Louis. I really miss that atmosphere.
  3. they didn't help much at the time, but I agree.
  4. This has nothing to do with his performance as coach, but does anyone remember when he played here? It's like nobody ever paid attention back then. He was the face of our failures. He was a scorer who couldn't play defense. Right or wrong he and Andreychuk took a lot of them blame for the playoff failures. I don't know how you can call him a 'sabres hero'. Fans couldn't wait to get rid of him. If Pegula did this for any other reason than thinking he was the best choice , it confirms some of the worst fears about his judgement.
  5. Got it. Just don't see how we go into next season with the same 2 goalies. Neither showed too much this season.
  6. Why would Seattle take him? he'll be 35 when they start playing. At this point, I don't think we should be too concerned about who we lose in the draft.
  7. I would love to see them go all out after Quenneville.
  8. I've been thinking about this a lot. How does he handle the goaltending situation? Can he go with the same 2 goalies? No help on the farm right now. I think he has to make a move.
  9. Well , he sure showed him, didn't he?
  10. So that would be Eichel, right? Anybody else qualify?
  11. the power of positive thinking!
  12. Why not? In 3 years I'm pretty confident he'll still be a very good player.
  13. Just to note: Pegula was once part of the stupid fan base. He may not have learned much in the recent years.
  14. Well , they haven't won a cup, so yes they do always lose in the playoffs. Last year, they didn't make the playoffs so already an improvement this year. And the year before the won the first round and the year before that, they won 2 rounds and lost in the conference finals. So they do win some in the playoffs.
  15. They have a different coach, new #1 goalie, a couple rookies in the lineup. It's a different team and he is a leader on a playoff team. They also passed off some dead weight to the Sabres. All things aren't equal year to year , so if you don't give him credit for helping his team have success it just sounds like sour grapes. Would be be a better team with ROR and not having Sobotka , Tage and Berglund for that time, I think we would be. But ROR can't play goalie or as a defenseman so we likely still would have issues. He wasn't what was wrong with last years team.
  16. But I think ROR, leading the Blues in scoring this season, has played a big role in their success. It would be hard to deny that.
  17. I would never try to convince you that Kane is the reason the Blues are good. That would just be stupid.
  18. That's a bingo!
  19. I guess it just points to the dysfunction with the organization when you go through coaches and GM's . One GM trades for Kane , the next one may not see him as a valuable player, leads to what we have now. He's not the reason they finished last.
  20. Not sure which pick they sent over. We'll see how it works out. Would be nice to salvage something.
  21. He said at times he lost it, but he didn't quit. He was our best player. And we got crap for him.
  22. Paint it however you like, the trade didn't help us.
  23. not entirely sure of that, but not much of a defense of JB
  24. If they offered him a contract , possibly. But that wasn't my point- we got ***** for him and we needed help this season.
  25. Really have to criticize management for the handling of Mittelstadt this season. After a few late season games, he was expected to replace ROR as our 2nd line center. He clearly wasn't ready. They should have realized that.
