Sobotka should seal the deal.

In my son's locker room at hockey last night, a kid looked exactly like Hughes, I almost said something to him. I think he was in the 12U group,

i know, i was hoping his post was a joke but hard to tell these days.

Is there a team that has 3 firsts in the 4-8 range?

Made the conference finals twice in San Jose. That's not underachieving. It's not winning the cup, but not a failure either. -

But didn't Pegula say no salary cap on coaches too? All we need is an owner with deep pockets... -
just curious, is any veteran coach considered a re-tread? Not trying to be a wise ass. Hard to argue with that.

Per Botterill: Sabres have relieved Phil Housley of his Coaching Duties

No Einstein, it's not hard to spell coaches, sometimes people make mistakes when typing and don't proofread . You, on the other hand, are the one that comes off stupid, dismissing coaching 3 Stanley Cup championships as 'perfect team, perfect time'. -

No, I'm sorry. There are still people that think Tebow should be in the NFL so it's just so hard to know these days. -

Who was his goalie? On his 2nd stint, how did he get more from less? we stunk. If this is a joke post, which it should be, i apologize. -
Very impressive regular season records, very unimpressive playoff records. I think Tippet is going to Seattle, i believe he is working with the owners now. Hawerchuk has a very good reputation as a head coach. Would be an interesting choice.

I don't see it that way. I think the Pegulas have been major disappointments since they took over the Sabres, but it's a stretch to think this suggests he was unaware of a coaching issue with the team. Of course he would publicly support his coach, anything less would be a huge mistake in judgement. -

Where does winning 3 cups fall into that definition? It's really hard to argue that Quenneville isn't one of the most successful coachs in NHL history. Getting more out of less shouldn't be a gauge, winning is. And who determines what less is? Maybe they were just underestimated, something that happens all the time. -

Goaltending was a awful letdown as well. Regarding the defense, I was really excited about the hiring of steve smith, I thought he could really help the defense. It just didn't work with this group of players. It had to be done, that collapse since december was epic. -

in the 4 years since he won his 3rd cup? -
lack of excitement over scoring. Skinner always reminded me of Laftontaine, who was always celebratory after every goal he scored. Skinner's lack of emotion after scoring last night gave me pause as well. It may be nothing other than frustration, because 40 goals has to be a nice bonus for him.

Did anyone really notice a 'terrible attitude' on the ice? Zadorov is part of a playoff team, Compher is becoming a very solid player on a playoff team. Probably shouldn't dismiss those 2 players. I'd be willing to be that not one player on our roster wouldn't welcome a trade from Buffalo to a better situation... which is most every other team in the league, save for a couple.

Whose return do you care more about, Rick's or Jeff's?

Could we just get rid of Ray and keep RJ and Jeff? -
It would be hard to get him, as he is in such demand.
-
Too bad we selected Reinhart over Draisaitl. I remember a rumor that GMTM was trying to acquire the 3rd pick to get Draisatl along with Reinhart

Just sneak Sobatka in there like nobody is paying attention?

They do resemble each other. I would prefer Julien as well.

He's had some dynamic talent in Washington and Anaheim. Just couldn't win enough in the playoffs. Tremendous regular season record.
