You have no idea if that's actually what they are doing. This meeting could be as simple as sitting down with doctors, who, after reviewing his medical records will discuss the next course of action and then proceeding from there. I'm guessing it's not contentious at all. This is what our doctors see, this is what your doctors see, let's discuss.

How many teams have coaching vacancies right now?
-
Which is why organizations generally don't trade away franchise type players.
-
Tampa v Florida is a wild one too.
-
It won't get any better trading Eichel, even if we get a decent return. Free agents will not want to come to a team that always loses and trades ROR and Eichel.... not a good look that your best players don't want to play there and you can't give them a good reason to want to stay.
-
Who will be the first one to ask for a trade?
-
I get that, but does he even have a doctor that suggests surgery? That's where I'm confused, again, the 2nd opinion he got agreed with the Sabres medical staff.
-
The odd thing to me is that according to Adams, the 2nd opinion that Eichel got concurred with the team doctors, so why the disconnect. At it's most innocent, it's Eichel just really pissed after the crappiest season ever, or he's laying down his position now that leads to him asking to be traded.
-
I think those that are in favor of trading Eichel have no idea how big of an impact it will have. He will put up 100 point seasons wherever he goes, we don't have a 100 point scorer and will be looking to Mitts, Cozens to be our big scorers. They certainly showed some stuff at the end, but are we ready to have them lead us to the playoffs? It will be a disaster if we trade Eichel. Who will want to play here that doesn't have to play here. The see an organization trade a guy that wins the Conn Smyth and the Eichel... hard enough to get people to Buffalo, nobody wants to go to a crappy organization in Buffalo.
-
They probably have to trade Reinhart and Risto and they likely won't sign with us as UFA's, but we don't have to trade Eichel and it's in the teams best interests to fix things with him. We should be able to get some decent talent in return for Sam and Risto, another top 1 or 2 pick in the draft and some good production from the young guys this year could help Eichel change his tune. It won't be easy, but they need to try.

which players underperformed that need accountability? We don't have Beane as GM, not sure if Adams is good or not, but this isn't getting rid of Watkins, Darby, Woods and Dareus. This is a bigger deal. We see that he's a pretty good center.
-
and if we match it?
-
Was Eichels, Reiharts, Ulmarks... fault? Maybe the crappy coaches hired by crappy GM's that built a crappy surrounding cast for the top players were the problem.
-
You fix the problem and that's not by trading your top players.
-
He will only sign a 1 year deal. He will not give up a chance at free agency to stay in Buffalo.
-
We shouldn't want to. No good reason to trade him.
-
He is under contract.
